Thanks Peter, I'll readily buy the Rotographic publications hadn't seen this one. Easy too to get it sent straight to Kindle. I just bought The Brussels Hoard of 1908. There's an article in BNJ from 1912 but you wonder how much ground an article from 100 years ago is covering and what has changed since then but there's something to be said for tracing the development of classification / understanding of these things rather than just cross-referencing against Spink. It's all a work in progress.

I like my music like my forgeries.... brassy. It also made me proud to be an American, although I've never been there and have no connection to the USA whatsoever!

Try rotographics Englands striking history. A good read and plenty of good info.

The last glass of red wine was at Xmas. My weakness is rare breed liver/oily fish. It is also down to dehydration. I'm drinking a vast quantity of water and eating cherries. It is getting better.

Yes, I do - but only VF. In all my search through dealer trays etc, I never saw another one. I do remember meeting Paul Wincott in Warwick years ago, who triumphantly showed me 3 BU examples - he'd just bought them privately, paying £60 apiece which was over the then Spink book price, claiming he could get £200 each for them without any difficulty.

Also due to some confusion whether this is actually the first coin of Tutbury as at least one other has surfaced online in recent years.
