    It is sought after, but is not recorded as a variety, In all probability just an indication that the die is starting to fail, other examples have the dot larger and irregular in shape

    Maybe a piece of crud damaged the die?

    I think because of the sheer number of people checking every 1903 or 1911 for a gouby x that your only hope to get one for a quid is to gamble on bad photos! But yes, I've bought many an under £5 coin for it to be nothing. All good fun

    Not to worry Brian ,think probably everyone on here who collects pennies has bought a variety at sometime from a bad picture ,hoping its one they are looking for. Only to end up being garbage . Better luck next time .

    Hi Folks, Just to keep you all updated I recieved the coin and it was just a nasty worn out standard 1903. It cost a little under 3 Euro inc of P&P so only about £2 wasted so worth the risk at that. Nevermind, back to the hunt Cheers Brian
