It is the case that what turns up for sale and what doesn't. London and Canterbury seem to be everywhere. Whereas Bury mint in a nice condition seem to be rare (the moneyers on Abbot ale?) Rarer mints...a few to consider....Bristol.Lincoln.Newcastle. BUT the rarer mints just didn't produce the quantities. Look at some of the premier hammered dealers sites and make your own decision. Until 50.000 coins are found in a hoard. Maybe Clive from Historic Coinage can help.I assure you there isn't a better dealer or bloke out there.

Die fill is another possibility but I think Bernie has resolved it. He is registered as Mal on this forum and he replied to my PM but I haven't heard back from him since.

These little tokens were very popular for a few years till the mid victorian period . There are many subjects but they seem at their most popular about 1805 till about 1860 There are lots of themes Waterloo Nelson Death of george III Death of george IV wife and daughter Death of George IV (more to be celibrated i would have thought) Georges coronation Williams coronation Victoria crowned. Some are cheap and nasty prob costing a few pence from street sellers . Remember there were no video tapes or dvds back then so people made do with what they could lay their hands on. Whoops just noticed it falls under the 1790s token series - It certainly looks more like a medal - It probably had a dual use

He's that type of guy, Pete. Responded to me within a few hours over a query I had about my F69, a year or so back. Top bloke. If you remember from the other thread too, he also signed his Gouby book for me before he shipped it! I should have thought to ask him to sign mine as well
