Initially the £1 coin was being counterfieted on a major scale purely for being passed of at £1.When working in the East End in the early 90's these were openly offered as many of the notes were being picked up by the readers and pens available to retailers. Now collecting decimal coins has become popular the game has shifted. You just need to be on top of your game especially on ebay.I'm glad you're back in the fold after your unfortunate experience although much wiser for it.

1848 patern florin with the adopted reverse design but ONE DIME legend. DIME is clearly cut over FLORIN making it extremely unlikely that the series of 27 patterns was actually produced as a set. This legend is the rarest, being used on only two reverse designs. Needs to be reimaged to bring out the iridescence.

Reading another Model penny book by Kevin Barter. I noticed at the beginning a dedication was made to another forum member. Someone else who has always answered my questions on pennies and recently the models. Thanks Gary ......another HAT OFF

COA's for replica or fantasy coins - I don't buy or collect them so I don't know why it bothers me, but it does
