I was waiting for you to come along, thanks Brandon I'm glad it meets your expectations, it signifies to me that I've done well haha. Fitting too as these druid tokens were the ones that piqued my interest in conders in the first place. I had no idea of grade or value because I don't normally spot them in such a nice grade to compare, so I thought I would put down a healthy bid - it ended up going well under than that anyway ($45). I have to say, I too found it a bit of a job trying to attribute it, the Dalton & Hamer is quite comprehensive, plenty of zooming in and out! Thanks again for the info and the examples you've put up, always a great help.

@Nordle11, lovely token! It looks to have a great strike, great color with some original red, and great luster. I'd say I think it would graded MS64 or MS65 RB on this side of the pond, but I had a token I bought raw and submitted that came back MS63RB, and I was sure it was better than that. So, it's MS -- and gorgeous, and IMO would fetch $200 quite easily. Below are my two similar examples to yours (I'm horrible at attribution of these Druid tokens -- I always have to sit down with my book open, and a magnifying glass -- the differences are often VERY small). Each of my examples were purchased for $225, some 3 and 2 year ago (respectively). Congrats on the new purchase! Purchased raw, now NGC MS63RB Purchased already graded, NGC MS64BN

I'm a foul weather collector, when the sun is out I'm in my garden, that means I've been quite busy with my coins this summer

I think it very rare for someone not to have peaks and troughs in interest with this hobby, you only have to look at a lot of the forum members who drift away and then resurface again as their interest drops and then returns again....there are only those select few who are severely addicted who are in it permanently ......and the dealers of course. The addicted members know who they are ...I won't name and shame

I got this the other day, I pay a bit of attention to tokens but haven't had the chance to pick up a nice one that isn't too expensive. I think I got this at a fair price, but due to lack of experience I'd appreciate if anyone can give a ballpark figure on the value? I look forward to learning more about it when I get it in hand.

Take up fishing and British sports cars as well. My rods are in the lounge and I'm soon off to the river. Afterwards a little bit of work, tinker with the MG and then settle down to my coins.

If the EU had listened to UK concerns and genuinely offered a compromise and negotiation I do not think we would be where we are now, infact I know a fair few leave voters and they would have all voted remain if it wasn't for the arrogance of Jean-Claude Juncker and co. They voted out as they viewed the EU as a bunch of unelected 'elite' telling the UK to get stuffed. It was nothing to do with imigration for these people but was everything to so with how broken the EU actually is.

This little copper token arrived in the mail today. I just finished photographing it. This is a US Civil War token (1861-1865), a part of the "patriotic token" grouping. It is indexed in Fuld's reference as F-164/312a, and is relatively common. This obverse token design often comes with lack of eagle feather detail, particularly flat or no feather detail on the eagle's legs, and soft or partial strike up of the "UNION" text on the shield. This example is very well struck, and I'm very happy with this one in hand (it surpassed my expectations of luster and quality given the so-so photos that were provided by the seller). I'm also including a close-up photo of some of the intricate die work on the obverse. It is the size of a USA small cent (~19mm diameter). Brandon US Civil War Token, Patriotic c. 1865 (F-164/312a, NGC MS64BN)
