In the boiling hot July of 2006 - 10 years ago - I actually smashed the window of a car left near the canal, as there was a dog inside, and the car was in full blazing sunlight at about 3pm. It was well over 30 degrees in the shade, so God knows what the inside of the car was like. Anyway, I reached inside and opened the door, the poor dog whimpered his way out, and laid on the ground, panting like hell. I immediately called the police on my phone to tell them what I'd done. They came out about 30 minutes later, accompanied by the RSPCA, took my details and said something like "OK mate, we might need to talk to you again". The RSPCA took the dog away, and the police were checking on the vehicle itself. No sign whatever of the owner. I then walked home. I'd wanted to give the dog some water, but didn't have any, so poured some cold coke on him in the hope it would cool him down a bit. If he'd been left much longer, he'd have been a goner. All this time I'd half been expecting the owner to return and attack me, or to get arrested by the police for malicious damage. But neither. Somewhat surprisingly I never heard another thing. I agree with you, Pete. If you can't look after a pet, don't have one.

Dont really see how its funny to watch......seems cruel to me . I dont really have an effection with animals so dont have any, apart from a few daft frogs in a tank we have had for years. Cruelty is another matter.....if you cant look after them ,dont get one

A bit off the wall topic but hopefully it can start something. Over the years I've sent a few freebies to young (I assume) members on the forum. I've also given the local schools some coins when my daughters told me what period of history they were learning about. A while ago a new lady started working with my daughter.Talk went around to families and my daughter mentioned that I collected coins. The lady mentioned her 12 yr old son had been routing through her change looking for the best examples. Basically that is how I started many years ago so I have added my best examples to a pot and my daughter takes these in weekly for him. After a couple of weeks I got a phone call from this lad thanking me and he enthusiastically told me what he had. I felt good for this so I went through my vast mountain of predecimal coins and packaged up coins of every reign going back to William 111 and a couple of hammered and Roman. I snuck in a couple of better coins and some silver together with an old copy of collectors coins. A couple of weeks ago I received a lovely thank you card from the lad. Now it seems I've made a win,win situation as he now makes his parents a cup of tea every Sunday morning so they take him to local car boot fairs. The best thing about it he also takes a couple of pals along who have caught the bug. Apparently his pals parents have now taken up the duty of taking the lads on a rota basis thus leaving Mums and Dads to have some quality Sunday morning times .

Good on you and pleased to hear no come back on you for saving the poor dog who may well have died if left alone. During this hot spell it's been early mornings and late evening walks for my pair.

Good price £70 and i believe the 2nd edition is the better one. Nordle has been looking for one although think he is on holiday.

I think this one is natural. I like it anyway.

What's the forum consensus on the toning on this. Does everything look natural?
