Here is the OP from the CCF forum and how she came across hers Hi everyone I came across this today, I've done a bit of research and I know its the new £1 coin planned to be introduced 2017 but I couldn't find anything saying if it was rare or not.I work in a cash office and I know a lot of the rare and collectable coins but never in 14 years have I seen a trial piece! Just wondering if anyone here knew anything about it.Thanks And again, same OP I saw the ones that's been on eBay in the past and one on preloved for £999......I actually laughed when I saw that one lol I doubt it's worth anything near those amounts, I was just curious to it's rarity as I've never come across a trial coin before. And again I found another one today! It was in with a bag of 50p's. It seems strange to find two a few days apart in the same cash office so I'm guessing they're not that rare. Still swapped it for a £1 out of my purse, they're nice coin to have

Ah yes, lol, forgot. Funnily enough, the dealer i got it from has sent another packet addressed to me, i thought, why 2 packets? Turns out he's also sent me someone else' coins that were meant for someone in Italy, roughly about 20, i hope to deal with him again

If I had the cash I'd buy all three auctions and watch him squirm trying to explain why I wouldn't be getting 3 1905s.

Crikey I never expected to get a reply from the RM this quick, but here's my question:- and here's their answer:- So there you have it chaps. Dave's informant was spot on. Shouldn't be sold. ETA: Not sure why the time of the e mail is showing as 4.43pm, when it should be 9.43pm? Or maybe it's correct, and they replied almost immediately, as I doubt there'd be any staff on duty this late. I'd only just checked my e mails, so it was probably sitting there for hours, unread.

Have a pound coin that's date doesn't match when it was supposed to be made ? It'll be a fake. Does the edge inscription look a bit dodgy ? It could be fake. Feels heavy ? Too Shiny ? Lacks detail ? It could be fake. There's also information on : The Fake Kew Gardens 50p, The Fake Undated 20p, The Fake Carded Olympic 50p's and a large selection of fake £2's (Including the 2016 Shakespeare Tragedy & the mysterious 2011 I LOVE U LANI coin) Plus a selection of old coins, from Greek/Roman right through to George V (Contemporary and modern) and a few non-uk coins too. www.TheFakePoundCoinDatabase.co.uk
