  1. Just thought I would add my latest 1888 addition to the collection for your comments. Sorry for the difference in colour its my photo's the reverse is as the obverse in colour I just cannot get my photo's quite right every time.

  3. Trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. Firstly this is my attempt to photograph a coin rather than scan and secondly this coin seems to have developed reasonable toning. Any comments would be useful especially regarding the photography. The coin was photographed using a tripod mounted Panasonic DMX -TZ20 camera in aperture priority mode f3.5 and 1/60s and side illuminated using 2 LED light sources.

There is one massive difference with art than there is with coins, art is always unique, it's a one off picture which won't be painted again, whereas coins have a mintage...Coins can be minted in seconds whereas a work of art can take weeks or months to produce....Different kettle of fish entirely
