Holed and in that grade and asking £349.99. What planet do some of these idiots live on? Surely, even the biggest coin collecting mug on earth would think twice about that?

I bought a Garrett 400i and I am pleased with it so far. The Iron audio is a nice feature. No exciting finds yet but I have only done about 40 yards of a 7 acre permission

Nice one - the Explorer II is or was the perfect machine. I started out with the XS around 2000 then bought the II when it first came out. Only got about 2 years of detecting with it until I had to stop but bloody ell it's a good machine if you get the settings right. I found some good stuff too and thankfully I still have everything down to the last button. I think the problem with the hobby is that most people start out with a cheap machine and then get sick of never finding anything or always digging iron. Always buy the most expensive detector you can and in the case of the Explorer II if you haven't made your money back (find value) in a month give it up cos' you're rubbish! Dave

I don't know what has happened to it since I saw it and can only go on what I'm told. Maybe it has been looked at and condemned and maybe not. The person concerned wasn't short of a bob or two, nor do they collect anything in depth, so it would fit into a random selection quite easily. Maybe they kept it and wanted to stay below the radar. Maybe they sold it. Who knows? We all know there are many things that specialist collectors would like to know exist, but the knowledge is kept close to the owner's chest for whatever reason.

Frustrating ?. I reported that about 3 times. Be thankful we are wise enough to know better. Maybe the buyer will be though i doubt it. It was screaming replica all over even without the heart stamp.
