Looking at these repro pennies, it is absolutely obvious they are fake, just in one glance.

Maybe try a quadrum coin capsule they have a foam insert which will help grip the coin. They are only about £1 and think the sixpence is 19mm ,maybe buy one and if its suitable you can get them cheaper if you want a box of ten. Just enter quadrum capsule on ebay to see the pictures and prices. Someone on here may have another option . Welcome to the forum

Well, everything it would seem I have Roman all the way to Beatrix potter with some commemoratives too. And I'm multicultural - Aus, NZ, USA, China (++).... I don't deliberately do it though, I just seem to "accumulate" - I'd prefer not to, but that's the way it seems to be going.

It's been a while since I posted on here and meant to come on months ago!!! This I'm guessing was an auction lot for one of our sales last week? I don't do any of the grading or cataloguing for the auctions, consultants are used. I do the grading on the retail side, though any coins on the website which were there before I started were done by the old team.

I have an old friend who sells Roman coins on ebay (not my thing). He is would you believe, 90 years old. ...nearly as old as some of his coins!!! He only purchases his coins from reputable auction houses and all his coins have a lifetime guarantee. ...though at 90 years old.... His seller name is cott2556 and i,m sure if some of the specialist in this field had a look at his site, they would vouch for his coins. Hope this helps.

Your better off looking elsewhere for Roman coins. There's so many fakes or tooled AR coins on ebay its unreal. I got stung with a couple of Bulgarian fakes a few years ago on ebay. The seller was based in London but his facebook page revealed he was Romanian which as you know is right next door to Bulgaria. That experience put me off buying Roman coins as i had a right mare getting refunded as the seller insisted on only swapping the coins for other coins within his stock which i refused then he paid me back with an e-cheque which took 14 days to clear.
