They are a pain in the arse at the moment. Starting to see more and more different types. Think this is the company making them. http://www.ancestors.co.uk/index.php

Different coins. Just found their catalogue. Shocking. There isn't much they are not replicating. http://trade.ancestors.co.uk/products/timeline/coins

Ah yes - now even I have heard about that mark! But I didn't spot it...

Fake. The little heart on the reverse left of the sheild shows its a replica. Fairly common one that we see a lot. Here's a few others from the same company in their packaging. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANCESTORS-4-COIN-HAMMERED-NOVELTY-REPRODUCTIONS-in-sealed-packs/192335788555

Must be something about Florins of that era. I also have a 1900 which I repatriated from a New Zealand coin dealer's website a few years ago. Very similar in toning to yours! Sorry for the thread hijack Mick, look forward to seeing your incoming 1937s in due course

That might offer a clue if someone is looking for these varieties

I picked up this beautiful 1900 Florin. The grey-scale toning on the reverse is really nice IMO.

Bought it Fantastic. You buy something, and Amazon says "Thanks XXXX!" And there's a button saying "View summary of order". So, having just bought the book, you click the View Summary button ... and ... you have to sign in!! Pardon me? How did I just buy the book (which you thanked me by name for) if I wasn't already signed in???????????
