Spot on. I put my spare house keys in a safe place about 3 years ago. So safe I've forgotten were I put them. Thankfully I've not needed them.....yet! I am sure I've done the same with other now long forgotten items. I blame the 90s ?

? Remember those. Me dad spent more time fiddling about pulling out snapped cassette tapes and cleaning the heads than he did watching movies.

"If he's anything like me. I always mislay the bloody thing when it sells" So, so many times I've done that. The one that rankles most is when Olympic 50p mania was at its highest I had three bank bags of the "Offside Rule" which was highly sought after. All three bags sell on the same weekend for a price I'm almost ashamed to admit (OK, £137) and then I couldn't find the bloody things. Refunded everyone and then spotted the bags 4 days later at exact eye level on my roll top desk. Didn't do half that money next time out. And my wife still refers to my desk as the money skip.

It is with deep regret that I have to announce the loss of a forum member. I was informed yesterday afternoon that Geoffrey Cope, aka Petitioncrown on the forum has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. Geoff was a passionate collector of Roman coins and those of the British Isles, who had sought only the best pieces for over 50 years. His enthusiasm for acquiring new pieces was undiminished right up to a couple of weeks before his death. For a few years now, his stated mission was that if he could inspire 10 people a year to collect coins, then he had done his bit to make the hobby safe for the future. It is fair to say that a quick perusal of his website should inspire anyone interested in history and art to collect coins. As a great supporter and patron of all things numismatic, frequently making items from his collection available to museums in order that they should be available to a wider audience, his death is a loss to the wider hobby. My thoughts are with his two sons and their families at this time.

Rule of thumb never put anything away in a safe place. Because as sure as the sun rises and sets every day that safe place will be that safe you won't even know where it is

Always at Christmas... bottle of sloe gin. That does the trick... Its strange though how from knocking on a farmers door, not knowing what you are going to meet to becoming really good friends with that person. Its a lovely pass time, and you have the chance of finding a coin or two.

Just go knocking on the farmers doors one out of three will let you go. I have just got a new farm.. fields backing onto the church so watch this space.

Nothing recordable with my Luddite set-up! Good old fashioned push the aerial in the back of the tele stuff for me, with an occasional tweak of the mast outside!

If he's anything like me. I always mislay the bloody thing when it sells. Sits right in front of me the rest of the time. Only when I need to post it does it go MIA lol. That's my Mantra. " The coin in the picture is the exact same coin you will receive" Coz I Is an honest bloke aint I lol.

I know. It didn't say that unfortunately but i believe it to be a genuine mistake. I think he's listed the wrong coin under the wrong listing. He must have two of the same coin as the one he advertised and the one i received were definitely different coins in respect of grades i mean as the pictures prove.

Stu his site Petitioncrowns will give an insight to Geoff. It humbles my collection. He will & be dearly missed. He told me that he once sold his house to buy a coin that he had to have. Hopefully he can find Mrs Peter in heaven to prove I'm not the only coin nerd on the planet.
