Continuing my mini collection of Cinque Ports Conder Tokens, here's my latest (Faversham - a limb of Dover) Why they have spelt it 'Feversham' I have yet to find out!

Great. Keep us posted. If you don't ask, the answer's always a lemon.

I just emailed them and asked. No harm in trying the direct route. They normally answer enquiries within 5 days. But seeing as it isn't a purchase question they might not answer at all lol

Incredible that the last two words uttered by George V on his death bed, will be the ones he is most remembered for saying ! (and yes, he does)

Which is where a Freedom of Information Act request comes in handy. Mind, I'm not so naive as to imagine there aren't myriad ways round that.

Actually, if it's worth the bother, this might well be a question the RM might reasonably be expected to answer. True it's a long time ago, but it's not so old that it's lost in the mists of time, and there may well be well documented records as to why such a distinction exists.

Yes, that would seem a likely scenario. It certainly would have been a turn up for the books if they'd been minted in some special room reserved for displaying the talents of the RM. Burgundy vs Green? who knows?

Ah yes - a bridge camera in DSLR style. You should be able to find the right size Raynox close-up lens for the filter thread on that, but you might find that a good stand, proper lighting, and the macro mode, will serve you just as well, and save you money.

That's fairly astonishing - Bugger Bognor looks the same age as his dad.

Just to answer the other part of your question - yes, it was also his own price guide when first issued in the early 1980s. Obviously, the prices listed are well out of date now, but they will indicate an approximate guide to relative rarities. Factor in though, that fewer people were interested in the minutiae of varieties back then, so if he's listed something at 4 or 5 times the value of the regular issue, it's probably rarer than you would think.

My eye sight or did they drop the ball with this 1? Is that a weakly struck E below the bust? If so how on earth did they miss it?

Rob should be able to sort you out a copy of Davies for the princely sum of about £18.
