    The gloomy Kiev weather has been getting me down this week, so I decided to buy myself some coins to look forward to when I return to the UK for Christmas. Here's my first purchase - a little James I penny, third issue, mm. two pellets. It was a bit pricey but I'm working on building a collection of pennies with quality samples from each reign

    It's a standard issue silver threepence. From 1937 to 1944, both silver and nickel-brass threepences were issued.

    Latest addition. I've struggled in the past to find a decent portrait on Richards coins. Class 4a Moneyer Willelm at London mint Struck roughly c.1194 - 1199 Ad.

    There were no initials on the second head, 1839-1863 though, so you may be looking for something that isn't there. (Fox Mulder wants to believe too!)

    funnily enough me and my other half caught some fawlty re-runs recently.....think they were on Gold.....timeless....hadnt watched any for years.....'basil the rat' was one of them....pmswfl!!!! p
