I was pleased to spot this as a 'buy it now' on Ebay, so I bought it then! Purchased on the first, it arrived today! I had been tracking it through Ebays 'Global Shipping' system, finally I can sleep at night. F24, with the missing top leaf. Cost me £150 all in, £40 of it postage via 'Global Shipping', what a p-i-t-a. But I wasn't going to argue, under the circumstances. One for your 'Rarest Pennies' page, Richard. Jerry

Even before vinyl became passably fashionable again, record fairs were - and are - a thriving business. And who sends postcards now? Yet there's still a healthy market for them. People like little bits of history, particularly if there are rarities involved.

It was an outstanding find and in great condition for a reverse F, for a truly bargain price. So yes, very, very well played Jerry.

Regardless of what cards may have been in my pocket, I would have told them that I had no other means of payment. Frankly, that's ridiculous.

Hat Off Jerry and well spotted. If you keep adding them to Richards site they wont be rare anymore

More than that - the thumb as well, which is slanted relative more to the trident than the hand on the one, but is a right angle to the trident yet quite bent on the other. The overall effect I would describe as "slanted fingers" and "straight fingers". The rims on the early George V pennies and halfpennies have very varied 'presence'. There was intended to be a rim of course, but the shallow reverse design relative to the deep cut portrait makes them almost disappear on some coins. It's purely a striking effect and not any indication of a variety as such.

Interesting. So the two types of 1912 have the same hand, but the 1911 is different. Worth digging deeper.

The Gouby penny book for anyone looking at pennies is definately one to consider if not a must have. Probably most of the ones you are looking at have been studied by all the people who contributed to it ,so although your opinion may differ it has just about everything that has been found up untill it was published. The £50 may be well spent and i would definately recommend it before buying a coin.

sorry it won't let me load .....I am sure there is a "conspiracy of detail" just in case we find something strange LOL Pennies are minted by aliens that landed in the space shuttle and the lighthouse is really an alien craft.
