Here are a couple of pics of our place after 2 years of renovation. Got to start on the barns next. The wildflower meadow in front of the house gets cut from late July, its a mass of fritillaries, cowslips, primulas etc in the spring. Jerry

Yep, that's a beauty and a stunning bargain, Blake. The obverse is near EF. Here's my VF specimen:-

Yes Pete, 30! I had a feeling that all my big bids on the rare stuff might not work, so I left a pile on other stuff- consolation packet through the door. Cheap open 3 to stop me wanting a VF example.... Here's that F69 that was in a £16 lot a few years back... Sorry about the mark on Victoria's cheek - she was impatient while I was taking the pictures and got a bit lippy....

I liked this boat on Mull, particularly because it was at the same set of colours as its surroundings....

Been sorting through some of my old photos from the Falklands and scanning some of them in. I rather liked this one - an old wreck hull being used partially as a storage warehouse by the locals:

Not at all, Terry 😇, it just goes back to what I said before, these are simply appropriate die repairs, equivalent of the use of an ‘L’ in repairing an ‘E’ or an ‘I’ in repairing a ‘T’ as shown in Gouby without specific varietal status, and not, as some would have, an ‘inverted V for A’. Not that it is impossible these exist, just that most supposed examples are demonstrably not, as the one above. While I do also gather these interesting die repairs in my collection I don’t consider them a true variety........yet. Perhaps a general consensus as to their varietal status would persuade me regarding these ‘alternative letter punch ‘ repairs. Jerry

I would agree with your assessment Richard , and to add to that, if another A had been used it would probably leave a doubled bar across the A . This would not be the case if as we surmise an inverted V was used. I think we might be winding Jerry up again , but to me this is all very interesting to work out just how some of these type were formed.

Here's the F38 I won earlier this week. Not a great specimen but extremely rare, and another Freeman type off the list.

Just had a look at the Michael Cole collection and the lots seemed to be in a random order until I noticed they were in descending hammer price - not easy to find anything particular. Surely date within denomination would be more logical ?

I wish that i had spotted all these pennies for sale. You guys are really alert to all coins for sale it seems. Well done anyway. Regards, Ian

Yes, he told me the same thing when he delivered the cabinet I ordered from him, earlier this year.

Did anybody bid/win an item in that sale of mostly scarce or rare bun pennies sold by Coopers Coins on e bay last night? Managed to get the F38, a specimen of which I've been trying to obtain for several years.

Not in my opinion, no. Good strike, especially to the obverse. But not prooflike, nor an impaired proof. Currency strike.
