The following questions arise: 1. If buried under a church's foundation stone for most of its life, why is it now in such bashed and battered condition? 2. If stolen in 1970, why was it put into a common or garden Whitman folder instead of being sold to a private collector? 3. Why is the cardboard recess for it in such poor condition compared to the other coins? 4. Why does it bear a startling resemblance to the replica 1933s produced a few years ago? 5. Why does the damage look like it's been done deliberately? 6. How come such a poor speller has no problems with PROFESSIONAL and NUMISMATIST?

Thank you for your responses. I've checked out the Coin Yearbook and I'll download the 2020 edition when it appears.

Several times she states what an honest person she is. Attempting to sell a valuable item she suspects may have been stolen from her local church? Honest? I am reminded of the saying: 'The louder he talked of his honour, the faster we counted the spoons'…..

The correct mintage figure for the 1913 halfcrown is 4,090,169. I get my mintage figures from any Coin Yearbook. The 2020 one will be out soon - just google Token publishing. You can download one.

Quite interesting this - there is a seller at the moment trying to sell a 1860 TB farthing ,just an ordinary one as a mule when it quite obviously is not . Coin is worth about £30 and he has it for sale at £1600 it would be quite easy to take him to a small claims court and claim your money back , but there again why bother when you know its only worth 2% of it BIN value . Maybe he believe the old addage "A fool and his money are soon parted"
