Just wondered if I could prick the interest of fellow Charles I halfcrown collectors, or ask for opinions I have been concentrating on Tower Mint types this last year or so, here's a montage of my best so far. Some are Brooker and/or Bull plate coins.

Hi Mike, I received an email reply from Michael Gouby this morning confirming that my 1895 penny was indeed BP1895Ba This is his update on the progress of additions and amendments to 2009 "The British Bronze Penny"... At present I am preparing the many pages of “Additions and Amendments”, as an add on to my book. It appears that many new discoveries have been found since I published back in 2009. There is a new obverse, a new reverse, several error legend repairs, plus all of the new date widths that have come to light. My work on getting these new pages ready is taking some time as new items keep appearing for inclusion. The final layout, pictures and text have not been finalised. There you go! Hopefully it will be available soon. Best wishes, Weaver (wayne)

Indeed, I'd definitely keep it. I'll be very interested to see Michael Gouby's additions and amendments to "The British Bronze Penny", which was issued in 2009, and there have obviously been many new discoveries since then, such as the 1895 wider date. I understand he hopes to issue something very soon.

Thanks Wayne. Michael is a great guy who always answers questions comprehensively and quickly. Invariably pleasant as well.

Recent purchase off ebay had me puzzled, so sought guidance from Morris Bull. I thank Morris for his prompt response which I paraphrase as follows: "This coin is a new variety I had not recorded". "Without a lot of studying, I would classify this coin as (3:15 o'clock) obverse Bull 331e with reverse of Bull 340e / 23".

Yes, I believe in the West Indies he’s referred to as the battyman and he’s responsible for getting the batter out.

I saw this on the BBC today and wanted to share it somewhere, so why not here as so many people are into photography as well as coins! New book out celebrating Jacques Henri Lartigue - a photographer in the early 20thC from an early age. Some lovely shots... https://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-52373308

He was celebrated in the first (or second?) Age Of The Image series, which should still be on BBC iPlayer. A real talent who never published outside his immediate circle, and wasn't discovered until much later.

Sorry (again!) I meant that my 1895 penny is the variation BP1895Bb. Must concentrate harder...🤣 All the best, Weaver (wayne)

You would have to be a complete fool to not know the size of a coin that you were buying for £50000+ , but it might have happened at some time, who knows?

Sorry, I meant to say that I'm definitely NOT going to sell it. Oops!☺️ All the best, Weaver (wayne)

A really good collection! They are well struck examples and most are nice round coins.

I know he is aware of lots of date widths and varieties he has been told about or found since 2009. How many and which ones he decides to attribute though Terry i have not got a clue 🙂 As far as your question on the value Wayne i have no idea sorry , £25 in that grade maybe ( a guess ) they are scare but not many interested in date widths .Although there would only be one way to find out really and maybe put it on eBay.

Can't believe what I saw this morning. Drove down to ASDA to pick up some food, cat food and cat litter. Pulled out a trolley from the load, and guess what? - there was a used disposable face mask and a pair of those lightweight plastic gloves in there. Not only incredibly selfish, but whoever it was, unbelievably thick as well. Couldn't see a staff member , so shoved it right out on one side, and used another. Just glad I had one of those small bottles of Purell with me. On the plus side, there was no queue, shop was virtually empty and the shelves were fully stocked.
