    One, Two, Buckle My Shoe. I remember reading that Agatha Christie novel many years ago. Can't remember if the story is any good now. Peckris' puzzle: You can make any number from 1-7 inclusive using the numbers 1, 2 and 4. Hence, 1, 2, 4 and 8 let you make any number from 1-15 inclusive. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 can get you any number 1-31 inclusive. 1, 2, 4, 8,16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 get you any number 1-511 inclusive. That leaves you with 489 which is the number in the last envelope. There are probably a number of other solutions.

    Ive found three different 9s so far first a narrow 9 second a 9 with a large centre hole third a 9 with a small centre hole

    That farthing is beautiful. I bought this a few years ago. Well pleased when it turned up. There's a prooflike quality to the fields that I am unable to capture.

    This one was an eBay find - not stupidly cheap, but given the grade and the type (rated VS in Peck) it was probably a lot cheaper than it should have been. It's not even about getting a bargain. It's just rare to find things in a decent grade on there. This one is an eBay win in my book anyway If I remember correctly, this was misattributed as a Richmond 1c. I also got a Peck 228 (rated ER in Peck) with Harp mintmark recently and that was also misattributed as a 1c, Peck 170-something.

    Had this fall out of a cheap lot- it's actually got the most lustre of any half crown I've ever had! Obverse is weak, but the reverse is really pleasing.

    He was celebrated in the first (or second?) Age Of The Image series, which should still be on BBC iPlayer. A real talent who never published outside his immediate circle, and wasn't discovered until much later.
