    Somebody on facebook just posted this really interesting pic of the VICTORIA ON AN 1894 halfpenny. Looks like an inverted G for the O. Or it might just be an issue with the die.

    In case anyone else had the same question, I received a clarifying response from the auction house (see below): "We will take your bid as you bid in the room. If you bid 1000,- for a lot what is estimate with 500,- and we have no bid you will get it for 450,- (90 %), if there is a bid in the book for 600,- you will get if for 650,- (always + commission). If you will win a lot"

    100% agreed. Quantitative and comparative stats are incredibly useful.

    Alfnail, I'm so impressed with at table of figures- that's how to actually find out what to look out for! That's a lot of work condensed down. Nice one.

    Just managed to buy this little beauty. Will take better pics when it arrives. A great example of a filled 2 on a 1932 penny.
