  1. With the purchase of an 1806 gilt copper proof from LCA last weekend, I've now got all three 1806 proofs from the KP31 die - Peck 1325, 1326 &1327, gilt, bronzed copper & copper. Whilst I've no intention of even attempting to become a major SOHO proof specialist collector (a lifetime's work, pretty much), it's always good to get a few proofs, and these were easy to recognise because of the incomplete 0 and no base serif to 1.

  2. Hello all, Purchased this coin at Morton and Eden the week before last in a bulk lot...I note the obverse reading of HIBE which is unusual - would anyone who has a copy of Bull kindly confirm if published? I like the old ticket but don't know how far back it is from, there seem to be three different hands on it ! Presumably post-1920, as "Francis" I assume refers to G. R. Francis Collection (Glendining, 24 March 1920)...but a long time before Brooker or even Lockett (?). All the best, J

  4. In the better states of preservation only, in worn states not so. This one is supposedly CGS88 which may or not be the same as PCGS or NGC 67. I will have a look if it ever does make it here.

  5. Yes, sorry, the 1st and 3rd images are the same coins (type 1) 2nd and 4th are the same (type 2). The horse leg and dragon arm were the main elements I saw to differentiate them. I had 6 x Type 1 and 9 x Type 2. I don’t recall there being a correlation between the different kinds of boxes.
