  1. I also have a F over F in two specimens of Reverse C 1860 toothed both show the same position of the F over the F so I assume we can find others ...a nice error this I hope you enjoy it too

  2. I thought I might start listing some of my half penny characters. It would be mice to have them listed so others might look see if we have matches . I am not going to argue that they are varieties they are anomalies and this would seem , to me at least, to be the best place to share them 1860 toothed 8 over 8 it is the rounded lighthouse type the A is over the older curly based A in HALF and there is a very clear error in the placement of the I in Victoria on the obverse I HOPE THIS INTERESTS SOME ...MANY THANKS

  3. Agree. I would buy the bottom coin (and not only because I don't like slabs). There seems to be some wear to the hair on the obverse on the slabbed coin. Here's mine, in case it's of any interest.

  6. Have you got this the wrong way round? I think the bottom coin is better struck esp. for the reverse.

  7. If the seller had only looked down, there is an AUNC example for a "mere" £185 in 'Similar items' !

  10. Quite right I got my tops and bottoms mixed. Just to be clear I thought the bottom coin (un graded) was the better coin. Sorry for the confusion. In my defence when I posted the images I though they would be horizontal but instead they were in vertical order and I had to edit the post and made a mistake mixing my tops and bottoms.

  11. I would rather have the ungraded bottom coin. Looks better and struck better than the top MS64.

  12. Why do you say C over G ? I'm more inclined to say a repunched C as it appears to be an underlying C.
