I’ve ordered the skip for Tuesday. I have the tough rubble sacks. Then, on Wednesday, when I can’t see the front door for Valentine’s cards, I can bag them up, drag them upstairs, and throw the bags out of the bedroom window, straight into the skip. Last year I didn’t think it through, and was stuck in the house for a week. You must know what I’m talking about….:-)

The Royal Mint has now released the mintages for the strike your own coins for 2019, which means we aren’t far from 2020 figures. Make what you will of it of regarding the politics, design of the coin, business model of the Mint, but there are two strike your owns for the Brexit 50p. Those done for two weeks in February and one for 31/01/20 - random Friday not in school holidays. The Harry and Meghan wedding coin (for one day only) had a mintage of 508 whilst the Snowman 50p had a mintage of 700 and ran throughout December! Both attract decent sale prices on the Bay! I’m guessing when the Brexit 50p mintage figure is announced we’ll have similarly pretty low figures! You can currently pick them up for between £15 and £25. DYOR

Hi there , just joined this forum . Whilst checking through my George V pennies I found a possible new variety , which is a 1911 penny with a raised dot just to the left of the date . I can’t see any evidence of tampering or altering of the coin . I would appreciate any opinions fellow members might have about the coin , thanks .

Further to my previous post, they are now making replica coins in an "aged" condition and they are appearing on Ebay in increasing numbers. The fake obverses all have 180 border beads/teeth whereas the genuine coins have 175.

Sometimes the head/face can be quite sharp on the real ones. Here's one I used to own ex one of the CC collections, I think the Workman one.
