Same story. Overpaid, then regret. Lack of knowledge and experience in my early days.

I sent them a message reporting it, hopefully others did to ,and ebay emailed me last night saying it had been pulled and action was been taking against the seller.

Here some pictures of the other coins.

Agree with other poster's. It's difficult to price holed coins they don't appeal to everyone either. I have a few holed coins that I regret buying in my early day's of collecting. I'll probably put them on eBay in the future and see where the bidding goes but i expect to be disappointed. I definitely overpaid for one of them.

Back in the day, when I worked customer service for the Post Office, I was asked to organise a Meter Check Printer on a customer's line. As I recall, this was in connection with the theft of 50 tons of newsprint! My mind boggles as to how many trucks it took to nick that load and store it. And what for? It's not like you can flog it at a boot fair!

I don't think it's worth the effort as your guess is as good as anyone else's. Guesses from dealers are fairly meaningless and might not be what you wanted to hear. No one can know how much it will sell on say eBay until it is actually sold on eBay again.

I suspect it was classed as 'an important collection' - I did note that most items had sound provenance. It's the only explanation that makes sense, though I'm pretty surprised that Noonans hadn't done enough research and so come up with more realistic estimates.

A penny dated 1985 but bearing the image of Queen Victoria must be priceless.
