Do cats eat mice?

Did you want that answered Oli?
-
I think it was better than fine, but not that nice because of the edge knocks all over. And that isn't a good picture. http://www.predecimal.com/forsale/crowns.htm

They could be what's left of tin halfpennies, with copper plugs, with the copper squarish plug fallen out.

Christmas & New Year.

You'll find there are lots and lots of ancients there. -
Oli! He probably really is from Estonia, so you can't really bring him up on his English. Besides, it's no worse than JMD's
-
Fortunately there are many exceptions in Eastern Europe, although I've not yet been contacted by an honest African (apart from a few in South Africa). Africans tend to want expensive coins/items and they want to pay by credit card! Usually when I say that I would have to have cleared funds before sending I don't hear from them again.

I have 1000 x CCGB2005!
Chris Perkins replied to Chris Perkins's topic in Rotographic Publications Forum
No, not yet, I have a little over 2000 of the TT left. -
Yes, doesn't it. It's a sorry state of affairs when you have to basically distrust Eastern Europeans, because you're more likely to be conned by them than pretty much any other place in the world. himaksim6days probably won't be back.

1927 silver three pence
Chris Perkins replied to newgold's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
But I've heard of them go for more than that. I've never had one on its own you know. -
I won't be using Western Union again after that Russian fiasco, and even if it is genuine (and I have heard about scams along those lines) I wouldn't have the time to go sneding and receiving money, and I'd have to drive half hour to the nearest Western Union office. himaksim6days, what's your ebay id? Who are you? What's your phone number? Address? If you don't provide those details, you're probably not at all genuine.

1918 farthing
Chris Perkins replied to kuhli's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
It's difficult to tell with GVF or below somtimes. If the toned coin was darkened it should have traces of black toning in and around the lower areas (usually). -

Ok, that's settled then, Juan gets it. I'll close this topic. HPJ can tell us about his other half in another area! -
Free Ticket to London Coin Fair
Chris Perkins posted a topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I've been sent a complimentary admission ticket to the February 5th London Coin Fair (Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury). I don't think I'll be able to attend... And even if I do attend I always get it free anyway because I share a table with a friend. So who wants it? -

Free Ticket to London Coin Fair
Chris Perkins replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
The ticket is only for one normal member of the public person, but there would be nothing stopping you bringing the other half and paying for her. It's only £4 to get in. HPJ, you have another half? -
1937 Farthing
Chris Perkins replied to Master Jmd's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
But it's not really the toning to look out for. It's the fields, they must be completely reflective like a mirror. There should be no bloom or ghosting, just completely flat, completely reflective fields. -
1937 Farthing
Chris Perkins replied to Master Jmd's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Yes, it may well have been Oli. And you're right, I would have called it a proof if it were one. Later bronze proofs are easy to distinguish (more so than some Victorian and earlier proofs). JMD, you need a proof to act as a reference. I Have some 1970 proofs I think. -

Trust you JMD! I'll see that one is changed next time. -
Ok, but you'll have to be a member to post pictures. I've responded to your email about the sixpence, but would prefer to converse in here.

Looks like an 1826 to me, I copied the picture and made it brighter. I could be wrong.

Yes, and I've attached it to this message. It could be an error, it could have somehow been smoothed down after leaving the mint. Either way, the side that does have a design on it is so awful, I doubt you'll find collectors falling over themselves to own it. To weigh it accurately would be interesting, as it might proove one way of the other. Send it to me if you like, I can measure the thickness and weight pretty accurately.
