  1. Yes, excuse the spelling mistake. Apart from that, you are of course absolutely correct Custard. Tell me, did you know it instantly, or was it after a little research? Please accept a massive 20% of your next accessory order, or a custom discount on coins as your prize. I'm always willing to treat those who are aware of Pink Floyd (..not just Another Brick in the Wall pt.2) favourably!
  2. Yes, i'd worked that out months ago!
  3. Where'd you find that lot JMD?
  4. Yes, that's right, but you have to make sure they are the prices that the coins actually sold for. I know Cooke doesn't give discounts! I have my own site covered JMD, I always enter the prices that coins sell for in the database, so don't worry about them. I'd like the same amount of data as the fields in the database form.....But at least demonintaion, grade and prices.
  5. Yes, that's a good idea. I'll do that.
  6. Yes you can, great, I'll change the top part. Thanks.
  7. Sylvester, It's up to you, I mean I need them all as best you can, so whatever order suits you best.
  8. I suppose the earlier ones, perhaps George IV to 1901.
  9. Actually I meant to say 'a rainbow', but the band kind of did the same. Although they did have more songs than that all time rock classic 'Since you've been gone'. And they were involved with Deep Purple a lot. (I know they shared members along the way). I once had a girlfriend who's dad went to school with a Deep Purple member.
  10. No, most of it's crap and just plays the same crap as most crap British Radio stations. In the whole of Europe the 'mainstream' music industry is simply about making as much money as you can in as short a time as possible from some young nobody who will fade away quicker than rainbow.
  11. Yes, I'll add you to the list above. Thanks very much.
  12. I put Pink Floyd and classical in the same grouping. Had Beethoven, Händel, Mozart etc had the same equipment as Pink Floyd, they would have created the exact same style music, I bet. Or at least it would have had the same amount of feeling put into it.
  13. The time has come I think, for us to gather as many British coin prices as possible. The database is ok for general stuff, but it would be great if those of you that want to could look specifically for price data on all the Brtish coin types. I thought about something like this: Farthings, Oli (and fractionals) Halfpennies, HPJ Pennies, Custard1966 and JMD (including Catwheel 2d) Threepences/Groats Sixpences, Sylvester Shillings, Aethelred Florins, William Half Crowns/Crowns. Geoff T Decimals That's by no means set in stone, so lets discuss who wants the other denomination here, and of course if you are happy with your assigned denomination? You can get the info to me however you like, via email, post, over the phone, whatever. All info should include an accurate grade, the date, any valid variety info, and if possible who sold the coin and when. Oh yes, and remember, I'm just concerned with copper 1797 onwards and silver 1800 onwards. I do also want proof data.
  14. I don't think they are forgeries. The massive difference between the weight of gold and brass, and their high face value would surely mean that no one would accept a brass guinea! I think they were produced for novelty purposes, and then of course again 'In memory of the good old days' by the Victorians.
  15. Well here's a little news I picked up today from Mr Marles. In the mid 60's when the CCGB forerunner 'Check your change' was selling by the million, and Marles and co. were making loads of dough....None other than Mr Lobel (I don't think he was called Coincraft then) wanted to buy the rights to that book. Marlesey went to meet him in London, but Lobel thought the asking price was too high and it came to nought (or half a page of scribbled lines). (Those of you into real music will be able to spot the Pink Floyd lyric there. Points awarded for song title, album and year.) So, how things could have been different if it had gone the other way. Perhaps the CCGB would have just been a non existant part of the Coincraft catalogue, and perhaps our very own little book as it is today would not exist at all. By the way, I heard a little birdy on the numismatic street that said there will not be another revised Coincraft catalogue.....And I mean 'ever', or certainly not in a few years.
  16. Yes, decimal is in. So are commems of course.
  17. They are Brass Guinea/Half Guinea copies. Probably made as gaming tokens by the Victorians, rather than as forgeries at the time. Not worth a great deal as far as I'm aware. Pop them on ebay and post a link here, i'd like to see how they do, as I have quite a few somewhere.
  18. I've emailed Geoff, telling him where to go.
  19. Blieb cool man, I know! And I know it's in good hands.
  20. I had a feeling someone would say that! No doubt you beat Oli to it. The thing is, no one is ever out of line in here, so at the moment Sylvester and I can more than handle things.
  21. Well i'm disheartened by your lack of attention, especially as my only moderator! We're not talking about much special, just the number and type of entries in the Rotographic coin database.
  22. I have been known to wash waxy bronze/copper it soap and water too but I always fear that the action of getting them wet may do harm! I suppose that probably isn't the case if they are dried properly.
  23. That's a very good point Edward, but like you say, at the moment I really need everything. From 50p coins to £50,000 coins!
  24. I think it would work out much more than 10.2p per mile, if you take in maintenance costs, and of course ridiculous insurance costs for a 19 year old on anything more powerful than a Reliant Robin.
  25. I happen to know that young Sylvester does actually have a driving licence. Don't you old chap?
