  1. I have no respect for any modern leader apart from perhaps Churchill and Mandela. All the world leaders were and are all very good career politicians, but they just do/did the job they were elected to do (with the exception of George W Bush who wasn't even elected to do it!). Many other people would have done about the same if they'd been there instead, and a lot of what they do is dictaced by international and 'people' pressure anyway.
  2. In fact I've noticed a few features and ideas that have cropped up on other websites after I introduced them first! Not naming any names.
  3. Maybe the idea had something to do with me being the youngest and most dynamic professional coin dealer Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Colin introduced his after mine.
  4. From what I hear GWB's speech was as usual, historically inaccurate to say the least. He compared the second world war with Iraq by stating that they both started with a surprise attack on American soil. Really of course WWII started with the invasion of Poland, continued with the battle of France, Britain, lots of battles on the Eastern Front, and then the Japanese attacked what some people call a somewhat complacent America, bringing them into the war. I thought that as usual Mr Bush showed his narrowmindedness by saying that, and that the reference to Iraq was very out of place. Back in '44 there was no doubt in anyone's mind that those soldiers were doing what was morally right and essential for the freedom of Europe. In 2003, in Iraq there was far more doubt than oil! And I to am too young to know, but just because Regan was probably not as stupid as Bush doesn't mean he was a good president, does it?
  5. Good to know this is the best for British. I think it's certainly the most useable, not that there's any thing wrong with Cooke's, but I think this one has more features, and a more modern feel.
  6. And Napoleon has a much better beard than Victoria.
  7. We're a bit biased in here aren't we. I voted French (no offence William) because I see Jubilee Crowns every day and just fancied a change. Both are attactive coins, but if I was not French or English and didn't know where either of them were from I think in all honestly I may be inclined to vote the French coin as more attractive! The jubilee bust is not my favourite, although it doesn't look too bad on Crowns.
  8. No, I already had that. I picked up 2 of the 1934 Crowns while I was there. One of them was arranged, the other was a surprise, and one I took with me! I sold those 3 the next day before I jumped on the plane (which was 4 hrs late by the way) I also grabbed a few little things with customers in mind. And I have my own Peck now, (I won the 1970 on ebay, so I'll be selling my 1964 2nd edition soon). I also met Mr Gouby to purchase one of his 'Bronze Penny' books.
  9. I have the 1964 edition, it's small compact (and smells of old book). I'll certainly dig mine out for ideas.
  10. That's a great cover Dead King, but I want to try to keep the price well below £8.00, and I'm not sure how much a colour cover would add to the printing costs. Of course, in an ideal world I'd love a colour cover, and I'll certainly look into it. The 'The choice of dealers and collectors since 1973' has to go! Sounds way to yank and makes me want to puke
  11. I am interested in hearing everything, about anything. You people (or at least your sort...And I KNOW your sort) are my future customers so I want more useful feedback on everything. I'm already chuffed about what I have found out already, so any sensible ideas will be incorporated, if not this time, then the next.
  12. Well fingers crossed, I seem to be doing ok so far. You have to keep moving in any business, and I have been doing that. Seems I have a new major profect every month (much to the delight of my girlfriend). Early days yet, but I have invested a lot of time and money in this, and I certainly don't think I'm the worst coin dealer in the world. (we seem to have strayed from the topic as usual!)
  13. I see, well if he isn't sure on the matter, there's no way I give a useful opinion on photo alone.
  14. This is it! Believe me Jmd what I do everyday in the 'coin industry'.... compiling the book, boxing up accessory orders or books, or coins, updating the websites, keeping check on you lot, answering emails, sending cheques, moving money around and many other tasks, I wouldn't have time to do anything else even if I wanted to! I am a professional coin dealer, and that is all I do (if you include the book this with that, as it's related). There are very few people that can say that is all they do, but I'm one of them. HPJ: The Bespoke coins belong to someone else. He'll be there but I think he's buying, not selling.
  15. Yes that was his name, but he was never a forum member here.
  16. I have plenty to take that I have resisted listing on the website, in the hopes that I will sell them and not need to. All British, nothing remarkable. Apart from 2 High grade 1934 Crowns, but they are sold.
  17. Ok, good idea, but don't add people that just annoyed you for some reason, or people that sent you a rubbish coin but acknowledged the error/grading error and fully refunded you. I want to see the worst of the worst so to speak, and preferably sellers that sell coins regularly. All ebay id's deemed as being 'bad eggs' must have a reason associated with them, from your own personal experience.
  18. Probably not, unless Colins listing says it is.
  19. Thanks, changes made. (not in the pfd, in the master Adobe Pagemaker file)
  20. Because people (like you in the past actually!) go back to posts days later and change things that they said, that were perhaps a little out of line, and it can make the subsequent posts look stupid. Tom then starts moaning about Dick and Harry changing their posts at later dates etc etc. So I implemented the limit to make people think twice about saying out of line things (knowing they cannot be amended in the future). I do however see the need for users to want to edit things, or include new information in their post, so you now get 2 hrs which should be quite enough for most purposes.
  21. Numismatic Rersearch group members now have 2 hours to edit messages before they get set in stone. The 'Edited by..' message will still appear.
  22. Yes, it's very good, takes huge detailed pictures of coins. I'll post some pictures after I get this weekends Coin Fair out of the way. (and if I have any coins left at the end of it!)
  23. Thanks Custard, I know what you mean abou the 'noted', I took a few of those away that were old and not relevant. The newer ones may stay, i haven't decided. The red 'Refer to Peck somehow' will indeed be replaced by 'Freeman', it's in red to remind me to change it, when I get a Freeman. The reference to page 6 as well will be changed, I wanted to change those at the end, when I was sure what pages things were on, or not on.
  24. She won't let you watch when she does he work out videos?
