Always difficult to work out exactly. Although houses, bread and beer are essentially the same, the industrial revolution and lots of other stuff inbetween means that all those things are probably cheaper to produce now than they would have been then!

I was at the Frankfurt bookfair, so wasn't able to check the last couple of day. Can you list the IP addresses of offenders that you delete in this area Oli/Syl, in this format, one per line: 192.168.72.4 (I've recently been banning whole ranges of spammer IPs and I think it does actually help reduce it slightly)

IS THERE A CERTIFICATION COMPANY BASE IN EUROPE
Chris Perkins replied to josie's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
It isn't, but she lives there now apparently. -
Some do, some don't. A lot of sellers sell coins that they can tell are not going to reveal much detail. Some sellers sort more than others, I suppose you probably get what you pay for. It is fun though, scrubbing them up to reveal what they are for the first time in probably 1500+ years.

Bit of a strange 10p
Chris Perkins replied to lotuskid's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Very interesting. It appears the machine got jammed and the reverse of another 10p has struck the obverse of the 10p you have. This extra coin where it shouldn't have been and the mis alignment seems to have caused the 10p you have to barely get an imprint of the reverse die. Sort of almost what is known as a 'brockage', but not quite. The value is dependent on what someone would be willing to pay for it. I have previously bought error coins from posters on this forum, and for this one I'd offer you £30.00 -

Some of the new varieties listed here are certainly appearing in Collectors' Coins GB 2007. I suspect it'll take more time and effort to get them into other books. I've also promoted the forum in the forthcoming CCGB2007, so hopefully people will see this forum and bring more to light. -

The cheapest book which is pretty good with varieties and a lot cheaper than the others, is my book, here: http://www.predecimal.com/shop/product_inf...s-printed-books -

I could have let him carry on, but what's the point, he's clearly like a stuck record and this forum isn't about hate, it's about love for your fellow man -

You can't help what colour your born as much as you can help if you born straight or gay. We're all human. I've banned his user ID, email address, and ISP, so hopefully he won't be back to bother us again. Appologies to other normal Newzealanders using the same ISP that will now not be able to post! -

Anne was gay too was she! I reckon, easily 10% or more of the population is gay (whether they admit it or not Aidan), so statistically 1 in 10 monarchs is also gay or at least bi, which is essentially the same according to that wonderful source of information on how we should all lead our lives that certain people keep quoting from. -
Why are the links not coming out?
Chris Perkins replied to a topic in Forum technical help and support
Because some of the areas have had that function disabled. Everyone is clever enough to paste a link if they want to. -

How can you possibly know? What evidence do you have that William III wasn't a homosexual? And why should it matter either way? You're all hot air and no substance. All you can do to back up your flawed outdated views is link to websites which also often share those flawed views. Are you a homosexual Aidan, and are you in denial? Do you try to hide this fact to the world and yourself by professing to hate homosexuals? I see you were just as popular on Wikipedia as you are becoming here. -

Everything in the bible is open to interpritation. The bible was written at a time when pretty much everyone was anti-gay. And then the world evolved and grew up. With the exception of some areas of the globe of course, and with the exception of you and others of your kind, so it would seem. I doubt very much that Jesus ever had anything agaist gay people, and I have no doubt that his original teachings have been manipulated and mis-interprited by others ever since. I have a few gay friends. I am good friends with a gay couple in Kent, I've even stayed at their house on numerous occassions (does that qualify me to be put to death, because I did lieth in the same domicile?). They are both the nicest people you could ever meet. One of the sodomites, whom I met at evening classes for German, is a qualified mechanic, and has previously worked wonders fixing various cars that I take the liberty of leaving with him! The other works at a hotel. They give me food and shelter on my frequent visits to England and they never expect anything in return. Both of them are better people than you. Do you have a girlfriend Aidan? -

What century do you live in Aidan? And when did you move to New Zealand from the Redneck area in Texas? For someone who is 29, you should really have dropped such biggoted opinions by now. They won't get you anywhere, and people will just think you're an arsehole. Lots of people have been killed on the other side by supporters of Ian Paisley, rallying round for his cause. All of the stubborn politicians in NI should have their heads bashed together. You're a homophobic biggoted plonker Aidan, and I think I speak for the other regular members too when I say that you are not welcome here with those views. -

He's a nutter and a hinderance to the peace process in NI. He's not really a Royalist, he's just a bitter Ulsterman. He wants NI to be a place where his people can be in complete control of the province, it's really nothing much to do with Royalism. And if he's ever made a Lord, they may as well do the same for Gerry Adams, because even though he's a bit of a nutter too, I think he often manages to come over a lot more mature than Rev Paisley. (not that I support Sinn Fein, and as if Gerry Adams would accept a Lordship from the British Government!) Were you ever in NI Aidan? I've been over there countless times and trust me, people that promote division like Rev Paisley and Gerry Adams, are just as bad as each other. It's all gone on for far too long, and I believe that there will be a better chance at a democratic peace when Rev Paisley is no longer on the scene. -

It seems Aidan has a habit of sometimes writing things that usually contain content from one or more of the 3 P's....Pointless, Patronising and Petty. On this occassion it's not all the P's and a new one has been added: 'Paisley'. Isn't this basically just spam? I don't much like Ian Paisley, he's too stubborn and uptight. He should smoke a spliff. -
I've disabled the code [like this] functions in certain areas to stop spam bots actually linking to websites.

I couldn't get the link to work yet, perhaps it's my connection or the PCGS server. I think this topic is probably themed on the quite wide gap between the collecting habits of those barmy Americans and the more reserved nature of the British gentleman collector, so it stays right here. -
Is it all that different to Spanish, or is it like Welsh compared to English?
