Hello everyone, I've recently ordered some rotographic books as advised by yourselves but was wondering could you please advise on any reputable coin dealers that you all use on a regular basis? Is there like a number one that everyone uses or just a few that are very reliable? I've have looked at a few online but don't know who is better than the others as I'm new to this. I would prefer to avoid buying off eBay if possible as worried about fakes etc. Any advise will be greatfully received. Thanks Iain

Yes I'm from Retford in Nottinghamshire, that's very interesting to know, Wakefield is probably closer to me so I will make a trip out to that and have a look about for you, I will be the ball headed big nose chap looking for you?

This is it the more questions asked the better hey! It's my birthday next month so was going to treat myself to a gothic florin, probably about £400 max so from what I've seen online at coin dealers probably a EF/UNC one. There's just so many die numbers, arc's numbers, different years etc it's a lot of reading up as I'm not sure what is better or not, hopefully these questions plus a bit of research will answer them!

Thank you very much to everyone who has contributed to this post it's very helpful. In regards to say to buy a coin of anyone of the given names on this forum would it be a case of just PM them and asking for there details i.e. Website etc? I've clicked on there profile but I cannot find a website link to visit there shop's. I've looked on Colin Cooke website he has some very nice coins at various prices to suit all budgets. Thanks again everyone!

She would break the camera?? I'm here all week!
  13. Been trawling through lots of old threads and picking up lots of info on the way. I picked up a Jubilee head crown a month ago of eBay for £40 not the worst I've ever seen but obviously not amazing either. But feel a bit daft now because if I would have joined the forum first and read the posts, I would have waited and saved up for a lot better coin as opposed to just buying any standard one in order to own one! Read a really good post with a line saying" better to have 10 really nice coins than 500 poor ones" and it really stuck. Lessoned learnt so thank you!!! Will put some photos up when I sus out how to do it.

Hello Pete Yes it probably was the wrong choice of words too use, I know what I ment I have a great habit of putting my foot in it! I also appreciate it's not everybody's cup of tea! There is such a wealth of knowledge on here it's mind blowing, as a newbie it's hard to try and buy a coin without getting ripped off by buying a grade that isn't what it actually is due to lacking of experience and knowledge. I might think that a coin sounds ok for say £100 you might see it and think it's not worth £40! Horses for courses. I have lots of time to learn. thanks for the advise, Iain

Hello Pete, thank you, Wildfowling is a type of shooting, bit like game but more concentrates on ducks / geese on the foreshore of rivers, lakes/marshes etc. You don't shoot big bags sometimes one or two, most of the time you don't lift your gun, just nice to be out at dawn and dusk seeing nature come alive.
