  1. Mushy as peas and complete with R and people still bid on it. 😣
  2. Its class 7a3. The 7bs of Roger at Canterbury usually end in a pellet after Can & the A is square topped in 7bs. Spink 1356A.
  3. Or in this case Old pewter nose. 😀 Reported!
  4. Good work. I had an hours mooch yesterday for you but drew a blank. I thought maybe it was Cypriot.
  5. Your Welcome. Glad to of helped. Regards Stuart.
  6. I based my classification on other features like the curls. Class 3 coins have pellets in the curls. This coin does not appear to have any pellets in the curls. Also the style of the V and S is characteristic of class 4a coins. Also the mint and moneyer confirms it as a 4a coin as that moneyer is only active at that mint from class 4a -4b. There is a Willelm on Nico active at Lincoln under Henry II in class 1b-1c but your coin does not have the characteristics of a coin of that class so it can be ruled out. Regards Stuart.
  7. Looks like a class 4a. Willelm on Noi probably. Either Northampton or Norwich mint.
  8. Can anybody give me a precise classification on this coin. I can't decide whether its a class 11 coin of Ed 2 or a slightly earlier one of Ed 1. Thanks.

  10. Another one from our friend field_walker https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Interesting-Metal-Detecting-Find/152853131851
  11. Whoever he was he came across as a complete arse in the end. Very immature.
  12. I reported it the day it was listed and before it was posted here for an opinion.
  13. There was a post about that last week on here. It's an electrotype i think. They usually go for £100 or thereabouts . Some people probably think it's geniune that's why it's gotten so many bids i expect.
  14. He's sold a few identical ones of those last week. Think i posted them up with another seller based in Tranent. I noticed another seller last night in Sofia , Bulgaria list 4 cnuts and an Aethelred. All almost identical in colour and tone. Definitely dodgy. I'll report those two above. ?
  15. I think you'd probably be better off on Cointalk.
  16. Hope you all get what you seek. Happy 2018 ☘
  17. Oh dear oh dear. The cats..certainly out the bag now. ?
  18. Not my area but i do know these are rare and usually come with a good provenance. I personally wouldn't bid on it but thats me. Rob is clued up with siege pieces he will know whats what with this piece. Direct link to piece in question https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unknown-Silver-Hammered-Coin-Siege-Sixpence/202162280662
  19. It was a code you input at checkout to get 20% off or a maximum of £75 off a £375 or more spend. Expired earlier this evening.
  20. Still a good gift. As other have said its the thought that counts. Coin weights are quite collectable. I've seen some absolute stunners of Charles 1st done by Nicholas Briot apparently.
  21. Gutted missed this. Had a major purchase lined up also. ?
  22. I hadn't even noticed it was Stamford. I just saw Waldlos and tranent East Lothian plus his wares & feedback.
  23. I think they had the Royal coats of Arms in the centre and not A guinea . Think its a brass coin weight. http://www.londoncoins.co.uk/?page=Pastresults&auc=140&searchlot=1256&searchtype=2
  24. Gut feeling is it's probably a chinese fake like the kew gardens one's. I'd love to be proven wrong though jinky. Let us know what RM feedback to you. Merry Christmas. ?
  25. This may answer some questions. https://www.oldbaileyonline.org/static/Coinage.jsp Ahhh crap. This post is nearly 2 years old. Bit late ?
