Think it's Edward III Florin coinage. Class 3 ? Unfortunately that's a guess as I've no books on coins of Edward III I've came to that conclusion by searching online. If anybody can positively ID let me know. Thank you.

Slightly better pic. Gave it some spit an foil treatment.
-
Your welcome. Nice find.
-
I think you are spot on Richard with the description . I make it Spink 2131 (vacant see).
-
Looks great. Nice! 👍

I managed to get a crease out of a Henry II long cross coin once. I heated it up and put it between two pieces of wood and belted it with a rubber marquee tent mallet. Sorted it out nicely but i wouldn't recomend doing it on something expensive like a saxon or viking coin.

Not a problem. Thanks for posting it up. Stu.

There's not much to go on i am afraid. The mints Winchester i believe as i can see INC which is part of WINC. Judging by the crown pellets I'd say a Richard or Henry II.
-
It looks like a Venetian Soldino. Not sure of whom though as it's not my area. Try looking on google or finds.org.uk or here http://www.ancientresource.com/lots/venice/venetian.html

Nicely done! Definitely 5a2 no doubt, reversed S is unmistakable. Quite a hard class to find in a good grade so you've done well.
-
Thanks. I was leaning towards 1915 as it looks as if ANGL has the extra I on the end. Same value anyway.
-
Got me stumped this one as some details are worn. Can anyone tell me the issue & spink number. Leaf -pellet? Thanks.

The Egyptian stuff looks like it was painted yesterday then sprinkled with flour to age it. The spears have painted on patination fluid. It's all just wrong on so many levels and not one coins geniune in my opinion, the greek ones are well known fakes from Cyprus sold by 2Rooks.

I don't think any of it is even the "artifacts". I've never seen somebody so blatantly flouting the law. Trading standards should have a field day.
-
Done Frank. Filled in the Citizens advice form , they review it and forward it on to Trading standards. Stu.

Totally agree. It's a blatant case of Fraud. When i reported some of the items i did it differently so i could comment. I did not hold back either. Whoever's behind this needs shutting down & prosecuting. I will do the same now Frank. Thanks.

Limerick Farthing - James II ?
Ukstu replied to Unwilling Numismatist's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Good read here about variations within the Gunmoney series. Third series covers the half pennies & farthings. https://oldcurrencyexchange.com/2014/06/15/james-ii-gunmoney-a-photo-blog-of-the-known-variations/ -
Limerick Farthing - James II ?

Yes your correct. Limerick was besieged in 1691. The large issue shillings were restruck as half pennies and the small shillings became farthings i think. -
Limerick Farthing - James II ?
Ukstu replied to Unwilling Numismatist's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
It may look rough and battered but somebody would buy it. Coins of James II don't turn up often due to his short reign especially these farthings. Nice piece of history , great find! -
Agreed. Absolutely shocking. I can honestly say i don't think I've ever witnessed a lot were all of it was so obviously fake until today. I've reported all the coins. Was going to add them to mike vospers wall of shame but it appears somebody's already beaten me.
-
It could be slightly debased (lower grade silver ) perhaps.
-
Was going to say the same. It's probably a viking imitation.
-
Agreed. Switched it off about the 60 mins mark. I hope they win but it's to much for me at present. I'll listen to the noise on the street.
-
Turned it off. Can't watch it.
