A Thurrock type potin, i think these were the first coins to be struck in Britain, my first Iron Age coin from an unrecorded Roman villa site i discovered and detect, had plenty of late iron age/ early roman pottery so there was always the chance of some iron age metalwork , this type dates from around 150 Bc to 120, A nice time of year to be out in the fields detecting, albeit a tad muddy,

first signal on the the field this morning, shame its missing a chunk, VILLA BRISTOLL I have it down as Edward IV First reign, spinks 2004, B on breast, quatrefoils by neck SUN mintmark ? if anyone can confirm the Id that would be great, my first Bristol coin ;0)

Rhuddlan is a scarce mint being the only welsh mint other than where the royal mint strike coins today in Llantrisant, they date between 1190 to 1272 roughly, yes i believe it was some kind of market or medieval deer park, not sure if its common to find them all on one field but i just thought it was rather interesting
