How Are US TPGs with English Coins?

mint wipes on the 02's, do you have any images, i have what i think is a lovely matte proof shilling with weird lines across it on the reverse, not scratches though, is that just the toning or this final wipe they gave them at the mint showing itself, love the half crown Btw, next on my list, i understand the 02 issue tends to be weakly or softly struck anyway,

    New pound coin

because theyh ad to start making them last year to get enough numbers, i believe they have now struck 1 billion of each, i'm sure i read some where that they were making 40,000 a minute at peak production, makes Edward I recoinage of 130,000,000 pennies look silly,

    TICKET CENTRAL

i'm assuming the tickets are more collectible than some coins, do they have that smell of age to them ? love picking up old books and getting a whiff of the past if that makes sense lol

    Short croos

thats the class i gave it 4a, not sure the finds liaison officer got it right, the amount of stunning cut halfs i've found on this particular field is unreal, always thought when a whole one turned up it would be just as stunning, was a bit disappointed tbh, still a nice coin though and happy to add to my collection
  10. i like a little Ebay flutter now and again, in fact its pretty much where i buy all my coins form these days, picked up this nice 1937 proof florin for just under a score, i was the only bidder, has a few marks on the obverse but its better than the one have already, my pictures don't do it justice
  11. interesting read, didn't know the little groats were so collectable. found a couple detecting, gonna have to dig em out now

  15. yeaah just managed to spot the 2 diiferent ones,
  16. can you cite any references, can't seem to find anything, there was a matte proof version that i was already aware of, but thats as rare as hens teeth
  17. i:ll look into that, cheers
  18. there are some subtle differences between the standard 3 d's and the maundy ones that look alike in Edward VII's reign and before, angle's of the rim etc, a good book to buy is silver pennies and linen towels by Brian Robinson, goes into great detail about issues and dies telling proofs from standard etc, gone up a bit in price now, i got it when it was first issued, great book though isbn 9780907605355
  19. no shame in asking, thats how we learn things, better to ask then to never know ;0) and make a costly mistake as i have
  20. This the standard 3d from the 1937 proof set, just trying to find a picture of my 3 d proof maundy
  21. Bought this awhile back knowing it was a forgery, i like the fact its of its time and not modern, interesting piece of History, paid about £7 quid for it

  24. Hi All new on here so i would like to say hello, my reason for posting is that just under 3 weeks ago i did a deal with a dealer swapping just under 300 Olympic 50p's and other decimals up to a value of £600, i used most of it to swap for what i thought was a scarce coin, the one in the pics, turns out after having some time to reflect on this purchase and look into it that its not, i got one for 7 quid on ebay the other and after looking about it turns out its a standard 1953 proof, i have contacted the dealer with no reply, i am getting concerned as there t and c's say returns in 7 days, i will not name the dealer but there are fairly well established, your comments would be welcome, you can buy thewhole coronation set for around £100 with coins having the same amount of frosting, there is one that has the I of DEI pointing to a space between the beads on the border, this one does not, i paid £550 for it,
