oh dear, I havn't brought any proof coins from the mint for a while but some I got back in 2015 had to go back at the time because of a white substance on them and now the replacement's have the same marks, will have to get pictures,
-
is that dust /cotton fibres ?
-
do you have to pay extra for the more designations you have on the label ?
-
the Rm let slip the snowman & gruffalo 50p's will not be entering circulation, could they become future kew gardens ??? or is kew something that just caught the publics imagination ??? still curious to see the mintage figures for the last couple of years as I suspect there will be a lot of £2's and 50'p and possibly definitive's that have not been issued for circulation, I know I go on bout the modern stuff coming out but its nice to hear other peoples views and opinions
-
maybe you can lock me in on one of your silver proofs, lol, 😁😁😁😁 what could you want with 3 hahah
-
that's the amount in that presentation, says 7000 maximum mintage, so not sure where the other 1500 will turn up

guy is asking a lot of money for this set https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GR-BRIT-George-VI-1937-AR-AE-Nickel-Brass-15Pc-Proof-Set-PCGS-PR64-PR66/173275070541?hash=item2857ffc04d:g:rqUAAOSw~O1a1gVU guess its cause all the coins are slabbed ?, but not all the silvers are cameo and I have noticed this in other 1937 sets, seems the crown, half crown, florin, and sixpence can be found in cameo but not the shillings and silver 3d (not the maundy 3d), and varying levels of cameo in the bronze which could just be new dies ??? as we know the royal mint are now chucking out bullion and BU coins with varying levels of cameo, is the what they did with the proof sets from 37 onwards ? has anyone ever seen a full cameo 37 set or owned one ?
-
oh was he being sarcastic ?
-
where would you call daft lol ?
-
I thoi9ght they were sonically sealed,
-
had to look that up, i'm sure might be a thread on this subject already

snowman & gruffalo 50p's

yale of beaufort reminds me of the blackadder episode the queen of spains beard episode haha -
I didn't really think the modern gold 50p's etc were good value, if you by a silver proof coin its worth half or less after a couple of years, there is one bloke who swears by the gold proof 50p's, # and I have been looking at this numistacker on facebook and it does seem about how shiny a coin is ,

I have noticed a lot of people buying these modern gold proofs and clambering to get pf70 ultra cameo, seems the be the holy grail of coin collecting at the minute, maybe that's part of it
