Jamaica (again) Has Anybody Seen Currency 1882 London Mint Pennies?

If it was a polished disk then I agree, but the overall dimensions do not take into account any variances in reeding/relief/embossing. The volume of displaced water accounts for this.

I find it hilarious that the 'k' in 'Manc-Wan*s' is replaced by an asterisk however the word at the end of the sentence is totally devoid of censure. I always thought that the latter was higher regarding its order of precedence on the Offence table.

Specific gravity test - there are enough demos on YouTube

Never mind, it seems that they crop up often so just a matter of keeping your eyes peeled. Good luck with the search.

How weird, I’ve got that ‘vu jàDé’ feeling that I’ve never seen it mentioned before.

How much extra would you pay for provenance coins?
Diaconis replied to azda's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Wasn't sure where to ask this question but as it is related to provenance research this is as good a place as any I suppose. It's a long shot, but does anyone currently have access to the Gale Cengage Eighteenth Century Collections Online database? And if so would you be willing to access/download a document for me? thx Paul -

There's a copy on eBay now. Not sure if priced https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hn-Glendining-Co-Catalogue-of-Provincial-Tokens-of-18TH-Century-1958-cb308/254481367683?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225075%26meid%3D16974f583f5a4f378398a9103258d9a9%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D114287901941%26itm%3D254481367683%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507 -

Blakeyboy drew my attention to the fact that the recent topic concerning the Wyon Cambridge medal is no more, ceased to be, as it were. 🤔

Re: catalogue cost This handwritten calculation was entered in the sale catalogue along with names of buyers. Cost of printing was not insignificant -

I'm trawling through American auction catalogues to find the provenance of a Cromwell coin I own and came across, "Ralph Barker's Collection dd 1904". I was stunned to see full-colour plates in such an early catalogue, beautiful quality. The Newark siege half-crown looks particularly identifiable with the red wax identifiers, unless NGC have 'conserved' it that is.😂 -
Mike, you could mount your phone on a stand and use a remote control to avoid motion. This one mentions control of the camera for photographs but I would think that video control should be possible. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Satechi-Bluetooth-Multi-Media-compatible-Microsoft/dp/B00824948U
