You don't have to spend a lot, my 1887 halfcrown in this thread cost me £18.75 or there abouts because the (ebay)auction ended at nearly 3AM when no-one else was daft enough to be awake for a UK only sale. I will admit I chucked 40 quid at in in the closing seconds to be reasonably sure of a win and was remarkably suprised to get it for below average definitely get the "Grading British Coins" book, so you know exactly which parts to look at on the coins before bidding!

Is there such a thing as an 1859/8 Halfpenny?

Surely Centigrade is only for US coins?

    Olympic 50ps

Indeed, well played mr anonymous! (Wasn't me, I didn't have that one spare )
  5. I'd have to dip that, it looks awful in the picture.

    Gold proofs

You'd think they'd slab them straight, omg I'd send them back to be re-done! Beautiful vicky proof though.

    £2 Coins

Addendum Spares are: 1994 Bank of England proof Bill of Rights 2015 Belfast 2013 Golden Guinea 2005 St Pauls (2) 2004 Trevithick Train 2003 DNA (2) 1999 Rugby (2) - I also have a sealed in pack one as well if that will help to tip the balance somehow. Pictures on request, offers (if any) by PM. happy to do swaps of some/ all / +-cash or combo of both. If anyone is interested in what I have as spare, pm an offer (Also quite a few 50 p's of various but I'd only take face+postage on those or throw them all in for a deal on the £2 coins I need - request what I have if interested, so I can finally get done with Decimal of these issues.

    £2 Coins

I'm on the hunt for reasonably priced and reasonably conditioned Commomwealth Gmaes 2002 NI and EN coins to complete the lot. Does anyone have any they'd part with ? I have a number of spares including an HMS Belfast full flag error. Cheers!

    Olympic 50ps

Many are tied up on ebay with people trying to get more than face value. Only a few are worth it when they show up as aunc/unc.

"Sixpence" in a Charity Shop Lot

    Nope, not quite getting that.
  13. I'm just rummaging through a large pile of foreign from a charity shop and got to the end with this left in the wtfit heap. For your pleasure - one Brian May 1993 "Back to the Light" tour guitar pick. I guess I will get my tenner back today

Is there such a thing as an 1859/8 Halfpenny?

I think it might be interesting to hear how it goes with images too .. nice to see just how much abuse you can give something in stages before completely killing it AKA when to stop / quit / sling it.

    Olympic 50ps

I am confused though, these don't strike me as Olympic 50p's, and it's way too early for you to be that hammered.....

    Olympic 50ps

I heard Nobby has got Big Ears. Maybe you could work something out there too?

    Clogged die?

looks like it's also missing a few colon dots too!

    Olympic 50ps

About 99% of those miinted are being safely stored by people who believe they are rare, thus making the appearance of them rather less likely in general.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Not sure I'd want to pay that much for it, but I'd be reasonably happy with it, not aware of any forgeries for that year as yet, but I'm always willing to be corrected in my learning journey

    Olympic 50ps

I'm about halfway to a full set of BU mint pack coins now, but I refuse to pay over 5 quid for any of them. I have all 29 currency ones all near mint, but they pretty much paid for themselves with the spares I sold

    2018 BRONZE 20p question

^^ What @craigy said, if the RM will validate it, you have a much better chance of decent value being attributed.

sold one last week ... £100 -1p Happy days.

Market stall - Barnstaple and South Molton

Can I get a crystal ball please - that way I'd know if you had what I wanted before I left the house for a 2 hour drive (or pm me with a list )

    10p a-z

I actually have nearly all olympic 50p's on cards, and was kinda hoping they'd do the same with the 10p's but was rather annoyed that I got a jiify bag full of coins in grip seal plastic bags instead. for £2 each I though it was very rude.
