They have to, you'd never keep track otherwise. Commemorative Crowns used to be 1 per coronation, it was easy to figure out with a date and a portrait. Now it's anyone's guess which of the 5 random things it relates to per month.

Some functions of software are recorded as keyloggers because they instercept certain combinations of keystrokes. In the example of Epson, this can be a little more sinister as it's their customer reaserch and feedback program... which can run regardless of if you choose to participate. Microsoft windows has a keylogger for their "telemitry", aka spying on you. It depends how paranoid you want to get about your online privacy, but pretty much, if you have an internet connection and a web browser/email client, you will leak a certain amount of data.

Ah, all becomes clear I'm satisfied that malwarebytes cleans up everything out there- you do need to keep it updated though.
-
@ozjohn what keylogger have you installed ? I am familiar with Malware Bytes and use it myself, but I'm not familiar with anyone wanting to willingly install a keylogger unless for security (that should probably read stalking) purposes or development. As a general rule I run avast free on my PC's as it's free and normally well behaved and reliable. Kev

I wonder how many banks amended their policies after Hatton Garden. People keeping undisclosed amounts in a "secure" environment which can't be verified probably leads to massive implications when it comes to insurance payout for loss.

Indeed, but does that mean that last year the 4 RAF £2 coins were not the best, along with a Snowman, 2 Paddingtons and 4 Beatrix potters, a Captain Cook, a sixpence and a nutcracker £5.... all of which seemed remarkably popular. It does seem fitting when considering the Megan and Harry £5 though - although I dislike nearly all modern "crown" coins. Benedito Pistrucci must be rotating at high speed in his grave by now.

@VickySilver I'm always willing to assist. You have my email address. Kev -
That is starting to get on my funbags a bit, perhaps it should be renamed Some of the 2019 United Kingdom Annual Brilliant Uncirculated Coins Set I bought one anyway, as it provides nearly all the coins for the year..... Just Brexit*, 9 Beatrix potter coins, 26 more alphabet coins, about 16 more undisclosed £5 coins, 8 more £2 coins, a Captain cook* and god only knows what else the moeny machine will create this year. * coins with a star are known to be coming.

Recent Purchace on Ebay 1898 Florin
Unwilling Numismatist replied to ozjohn's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I'd agree 100% with Paddy, very solid advice there. I've picked up a few of the Old heads and have been dissappointed at how they can look better in some photographs than they are. Weak obverse strike is definitely a theme with these too. I will disagree on the price though, and I'd say for the coin you got, it's probably a fair price (in ebay terms at least). These aren't the easiest Florins to get hold of and you'll pay more than that for a really good one - unless you have the patience of a saint or enough time to trawl every dealer site for weeks. -
And according to the tour guide from my recent mint visit, I know the mintage. I'd very much suggest that if you want a full set you go buy one rather sharpish - as *every* coin has a lower mintage than...... these! 200k of each letter, total mintage 5.2 million

I'm off to the RM tomorrow to bag me a couple of SYO 50p's. To start the year off, they will be the old "New Pence" reverse. I'll also see what's new on the shelves while I'm there, and will probably spend a few more minutes drooling over the Victoria proof set in the big pink heart shaped case.

January 2019 Strike Your Own
Unwilling Numismatist replied to Unwilling Numismatist's topic in Decimal Coins
I got some goodies.. I got a bit sidetracked to be honest and grabbed a 2019 Annual set while I was there. I can say for sure that the RM have cottoned on to the ebay aspect and are now grabbing a bit more from the innocent punter (me). It used to be a fiver for a 50p or two for 7.50 (you had to go with someone for this as it was 1 per person). Today I was charged 6.90 for the first coin and 8.90 for the next 4 - you can now have 5. Add on the 13.90 for the tour (no coins without a tour), and 3 quid for a coffee... Kind of glad there weren't any pre-decimal coins on sale, I might've really done my wallet over.- 2 replies

is it me, or does her ear have that Chinese slant to it? (and normally a good seller too!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Stunning-1878-Die-19-Victoria-Gothic-Florin/362514287021?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055359.m1431.l2649

So, Brexit....What's happening?

Only if we need to understand how to dodge questions and not admit anything. A certain "speedy" MP missed that part of politician school though didn't she.... -
I find the phone app is a nightmare for this, and often reports to me that I didn't win, when in fact I did, before it sends me notifications to pay. Most confusing, but fortunately I haven't missed much. Actually forgetting to keep an eye on things I really want is more of a problem

Precisely. -
Hi Luca, Looking at those images I'd be pretty happy that it's genuine. There are no obvious casting marks, the wear appears even and natural and the cracking is common on coins of the period. Tiberius ruled from Ad14-37, so any point in this period is fair game for minting coins. You can see a similar example Here.
