At least there would be proper grading on Chris's auction site! Look at this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...6&category=3397

Hobbies?(apart from coin collecting)
william posted a topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Hi all, i was wondering what hobbies you have other than numismatics. i enjoy playing violin & piano at the RNCM(Manchester). i also like using computers. What about you? -
Yes, there are a lot of dodgy people on ebay. There are quite a few topics about bad ebay experiences around here! Why "broken lawn-mower engines"?
-
i didn't know Coincraft published a catalogue i suppose the price guides really over the top though.....
-
Is it just my computer, or is the above link unavailable?

i can't believe that anyone would notice something that small! Oli is a real nitpick! -

Wow, that's quite a lot of hobbies! -
Yes, two very awful dealers, but surely, Coincraft are slightly better than Westminster. (i really hate Westminster!)

Well, it's certainly out of my reach! -
The blue is a big improvement. Thanks. Anyone else agree?

A normal 1868 Threepence?
william replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Chris, Are you going to sell that threepence? What are you going to price it at? -
Look at this coin! Definitely not UNC on the obverse. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...8&category=3406

It looks like this guy dug that cartwheel penny up in the garden or something, because it says at the top of the page "nice find"!

And your gothic florin for the other competition. i'm suprised it didn't win! If i was a member, gothic florin would get my vote! -
i haven't, but i like looking at pictures of them!

Chris, Yesterday i read an article in COIN NEWS about a new auction site trying to give ebay "a run for their money". Apparently their fees are 50% cheaper than ebay. Also, for the first six months all listings are free. I haven't visited the site yet, but they sound better than ebay! The web address is www.wangled.com. You could try listing your items on there? Hope this helps.

Hi Chris, (Chris@Jul 3 2003, 03:48 PM) Your site is the best coin site that i know of. The layout is good, and the navigation is really easy to follow. i used to buy coins from those silly Westminster Collection people. That was before i started collecting Victorian stuff. Since then i have always recieve rubbish advertisements from them. Also, their cheapest items are £9.99! Predecimal.com sells coins for fair prices, and the coins are actually what people want! The forum is great too; easy to use and great for learning from. So......thanks!

Is the Churchill crown the ugliest coin?
william replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
If the Churchill crown isn't the ugliest coin, then the 2004 50p could be. Runner's legs, come on! -
(Sylvester@Nov 28 2003, 06:58 PM) i agree. The £1 & £2 coins look fairly good though.
-
Can you give me the grades and prices? i am looking out for more, as my only one is graded "poor"!
-
Neither can i!
-
Hi Sylvester, My favourite coin is definitley the gothic/godless florins. Also the gothic crown. They are very expensive in top grades though (i am 11 and get £2 a week! ). i can afford low grade gothic florins. I have never bought a godless florin or gothic crown though.
