The first coin Ricard on Nicol looks very much like ficard, but can't find that moneyer. so must be Ricard.

Hope so, was talking to my dad at the weekend about my coins, was saying I have no idea what most of them are or worth. I just find them, give them a quick wash and into the box. But I do love looking at them, tiny pieces of art.

The shapes of the letters I find difficult ... I cant tell if they are square or rounded... they all look similar, the early ones, wedge shaped seem ok ...lol you will have to have a look at my i.d s .. put me right. I'm sort of totally lost with sub classes

I'm getting the bug of trying to i.d my coins, I got myself a copy of the short - cross coinage by Christopher r wren, I had a few more short cross coins will put them up with my own interpretation of what I think they are lol.

Always at Christmas... bottle of sloe gin. That does the trick... Its strange though how from knocking on a farmers door, not knowing what you are going to meet to becoming really good friends with that person. Its a lovely pass time, and you have the chance of finding a coin or two.
