    Ebay's Worst Offerings

The amount of corrosion is interesting- maybe more galvanic than usual because of the steel box?
  2. blakeyboy

    That was lucky

    Yes- 'VOTE' not 'VOTES'....hilarious.
  3. blakeyboy

    That was lucky

Yes...and don't get me started on the 'VOTES FOR WOMEN' stamps... I have actually seen someone trying to sell an 'original' 'VOTE FOR WOMEN' penny that he'd clearly made last week.....what a knob.....!

I presume that the watch wasn't the first object it encountered on it's travel from the muzzle. If it had passed through aircraft metalwork then it would have not been bullet-shaped, maybe flattened, and would have had much less kinetic energy, so the the watch damage looks right to me. I've mentioned before the ebay charlatans that take a penny, hammer a punch through it, and jam an old ww1 bullet in the hole. They should all be shot themselves. It's funny how the penny involved is worn out as if it was taken from change in the 60's. They can't afford to destroy 1916 bennies in UNC......
  5. Oh it's too early in the week for me--I mean trumpet player.......
  6. I've decided to become a metric saxophone player and call myself 'Kilometres Davis"........
  7. Or at least you could fill in for someone... I asked my mate "Do you dig graves?" And he said "They're alright, I suppose..."
  8. Oh Quality. We should all start writing for Tim Vine.....

    slim pickings

I noticed that Slim Pickings was in the Nashville Hall of Fame- and still touring, apparently.....

    slim pickings

I've had quite vitriolic run-ins with some Ebay sellers who have _made up_ the 'penny with a bullet - Trench Art' nonsense, making cash from the WW1 centenary. Really winds me up.
  11. "I once worked in admin but had a nervous breakdown. " Been there. You earned a rest, you paid your taxes , so why worry? Comedy and music were my crutches. Now you should do the little personal projects you've been putting off for decades. `You could dress in drag, and earn money singing in campsites to keep the midges and mosquitos away. Get ready............ You could call yourself 'Citronella Fitzgerald'.....
  12. I was a doctor but I lost my patients. I went for a job at the circus as the Human Projectile, but I wasn't the right calibre.... I eventually went mad, and ended up in hospital because I thought I was a gun. I discharged myself.
  13. Oh now that's quality 'on the hoof 'comedy..I spend months writing my shit and you trump it in under an hour....!!!
  14. i’m applying for the government Thrill-Seekers Allowance- a bit like the Job Seeker’s Allowance, but they push you out of the plane halfway through the interview. Not to be confused with the New Seekers Allowance, where you get the money if you teach the world to sing….
  15. I used to nick staircases, but I took steps not to get caught......

    LCA December

How can you tell? LCA site running for me now, so I had a look, and it's a good fake, if it's fake....
  18. I wish I'd been a second-hand car salesman, but you can't turn the clocks back.

    LCA December

And there's me just about to open a new account!! I've recently upgraded Sierra, and all that's changed is that Safari and Firefox both won't go to London Coins. All other things I go to work fine.....bamboozling..... What is it about there site that these two search engines don't like? The customer service?
  20. Cheers Kev. I couldn't believe it- I was doing the usual...you know....you know that if you did some standard searches once a day you'd catch stuff, but then you're too busy or can't be arsed and suddenly you get the OCD urge to REALLY look, so you get involved in a two-hour trawl... It was 2 in the morning, I'd finished the malt,.... "just one more look".... and this guy had about fifteen 1908's in a row, all similar condition to this one, so I thought " this lot, then stop".......it was the last bloody one.....I was so tired I had to look again and again....... ( I told my friend that we all thought he was OCD, and he said " you mean CDO, surely, ........alphabetical order......" )

    LCA December

I can't get Safari or Firefox to work on LCA site tonight... do they go down a lot?
  22. Had this arrive from Australia- the seller couldn't work out why anyone would pay AU$30 shipping on an AU$2 coin.... then he looked closer, realised what it was, but said it was his mistake and honoured the deal!!! His Ebay name is 'the_jittery_horse'- a real honest seller!
  23. blakeyboy

    Pennies High grade.

is there a reasonable F76 for sale anywhere at the moment?
