If you just want the values Sylvester, just buy a copy of coin yearbook because that is where they get the values from.........or better still buy a copy of CC2004 -
Looks like you have done it.
-
Look at this: My Webpage If I had £30,000-£40,000 I would certainly buy it! It's the first one I've ever seen on the market.

I've thought of another one..........we all collect milled and you do the opposite and collect hammered. -
1820 £5 Proof
Half Penny Jon replied to Half Penny Jon's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Yes the bare head did Sylvester. I would not have to worry about putting it in a cabinet because I would not be able to get one for at least 20 years or so.........If I still had my cabinet then I guess I would be forced to slab and grade it (I know what you are all thinking, I would hate slabbing and grading normally but I think that it will be commonplace in 20 years time). -
1820 £5 Proof

I would only buy an 1826 £5 if it was in FDC like the one in Spink because I just would not enjoy having one with an edge bruise or a bag mark. It would be like a ruined piece of art. -
I saw that, its typical of many ebay sellers. The only time when people like that grade their coins right is when they describe them as "very good" because that is all they usually are.

Coin News
Half Penny Jon replied to Emperor Oli's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
To answer Oli's question: It wasn't that sort of question.....they always set either a crossword or a picture question. This month you had to tell the difference between two coins. The closing date for these competitions is about three months after the issue comes out. To answer Sylvesters question: They are doing half guineas this month, guineas are next month. -
Making a set of your own could be much cheaper than buying one but make sure that all of the coins have matching toning.

I have just posted my entry, it took me about 2 minutes to figure out the answer! This month's one was easy! -
If I didn't collect halfpennies, I would collect Vicky YH shillings, I might even start to collect them as well as halfpennies, they are wonderful and have massive eye-appeal!

You should, it covers almost every section of numismatics. Chris' advert is also in there! -

Last month they did £5 and £2 pieces and this month they are doing guinea fractions. -
If you got verdigris quite easily, I suggest that you should think about collecting silver......victorian shillings are very nice!

Queen Anne coin?
Half Penny Jon replied to Martyn's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Also, queen anne always had the date at the top of the reverse, all except the farthing which had the date in the exergue.
