The LCF is already stretching my wallet as far as it will go! -
Yes it was up for £550. If I had the money I would certainly buy it. The carbon spots on the reverse didn't look as severe as that when I looked at it, they actually looked a sort of coppery colour. Apart from that, it is a lovely proof.
-
How much are you selling it for? P.S: I saw the price tag!
-
Happy birthday for tuesday Chris! I will be at Work Experiance so I will not be able to go on-line until about 7.00PM. Btw, have you still got that 1868 Cupro-Nickel proof half penny Chris? It is a really beautiful coin!

I will have to make do with my warm-ish bedroom.

In about ten years or so, I will sell you my halfpenny collection, if I have not decided to keep it until I am 60 or so....... -
Who was that? Did she have a large collection of Farthings?

Well I personally think that they are the ugliest coins in the world! -
Colin Cooke has one certainlty on that scale and of that 'wow' factor.
-
I specialised because I am addicted to half pennies and I like the look of farthings. I hope to have a collection on the scale of Dr. Nicholson in about 30 years time but in the meantime, I will collect bronze half pennies and farthings (when I have completed my date run of half pennies)
-
I guess different people have different collecting habits. I love my date run and will love it even more when it is complete. When it is finished I have decided that I will complete a date run of farthings (1900-1936)
-
You are very ambitious with your coins JMD . Just think before you buy it. You may get more pleasure out of owning lots of lovely farthings than just a single coin.

You will have to ask a Churchill crown expert, if one exists that is! -
It depends what sory of coins you want for your collection. Halfpennys rarely creep above £50 but for your collection it is a different story......
-
The most I've ever spent on a coin is £75, and before that it was £63! It is a lovely coin though Sylvester! I do like the portrait!
-
Spink 2004 EF-£2250, not quoted in UNC. I have seen a few on Ebay in the past few months.
-
It is an 1859 sovereign with an 'ansell ribbon' (there is an extra line in Vicks ribbon).
-
i really want one, can't afford one but i'd like to see one! Question is if you drop it will it break? And would it be wise to wash your hands after handling one... considering the stuff in there? (or is it non-toxic when alloyed?) I think the people who have dropped them have been ver upset for a very long time........
