I am glad that we don't share the same grading system because I don't think slabbing and grading would go down well here in the U.K both with collectors and dealers. -

Cleaning usually produces hairlines, the coin does look a bit odd. BUYER BEWARE. -

That is a very formidable collection you have there coppers! How long have you been collecting pre-1860 patterns? -
Also, your 1837 soveriegn would be worth anything from £250-£500 in the condition that you are describing however, we will need to see some sort of picture to determine value.
-
If they are quite circulated, they will either go for bullion value, or just over bullion value which is on average £63 bullion value.

I didn't think that it looked cleaned, maybe the seller is just being cautious about those black spots. -

I am not sure yet, I will either expand into earlier half pennies or collect farthings between 1900 and 1936 to match my half pennies. I still need the 1902LT half penny though. I saw one at the coin fair in UNC good lustre but had a massive £250 price tag. Maybe Wybrit will sell me his one in about a years time, who knows! -

I am not sure, but Colin Cooke offered 'a few sparkling gems' at £45 each about a year ago, he is still selling them so I would imagine that he bought quite a few of them. -

I imagine the seller would sell them one by one over a long period of time to get a maximum profit. However, a re-calculation of their value would be in order because this is a previously unknown hoard. The same thing happened when a small hoard of 1882H farthings was discovered a few years ago un BU GEM condition. -

I don't think my picture is on Colin's site anymore, I have saved it though so I can just send it to you Sylvester. -
I have seen loads of 2004 lp's and 2p's also, I have seen the 2004 20p on two occasions. I have not seen the new £2 though.

Last time I looked, we were all boys! You could not have known that though, never mind.

Sorry, I merely gazed at the word and I sometimes mis-read things.
