A completely new thread...
Half Penny Jon replied to william's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
I remember when I was in year 6 back in the olden days! I'm in year 10 now and I have my mocks next week. The good thing about that is we have every afternoon off including the whole of Friday for study leave. -

It does seem so yes. I also notice that with Spink, they just add a certain amount to each coin each year. For example. Late victorian shillings: just add £25! -

Exactly. Maybe the Spink prices are too ambitious for Ebay? -
Do you think it is worth it?
Half Penny Jon replied to Half Penny Jon's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Yes. It's good that he has a picture for most of his coins. I find that most dealers don't bother showing a photo of a coin priced less than £20.00. -

That's bizarre. My year 9 brother had his sats last week. I thought that everyone took their sat's at the same time. -

I always find that Bronze coins don't usually achieve their Spink prices on Ebay. -

I didn't imagine anything like that, WELL DONE CHRIS!!! If you want, I could research prices for half pennys between 1900 and 1936 (my specialist field) I could also make you aware of all the different varieties (if you don't already know them of course!). I would just like to say that your business endevour is great news and I wish you the very best of luck with it! -

modern maundy sets...
Half Penny Jon replied to Master Jmd's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Maundy sets really don't change a great deal in value even after 100 years. As Oli said, you might as well spend your money on your specialised area. -
Nice bit of advertising there Oli!

If you were a millionaire......
Half Penny Jon posted a topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Hello everyone, I think we need a what if...... thread just to see what sort of coins peope would buy if we became millionaires. Personally, I would complete the bronze series as best I can and if possible, I would buy every proof set since 1826. -
