Sponk 2005
Master Jmd replied to Half Penny Jon's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
If the last high pricing was in 1980, i think that prices will continue to rise much longer than 2006/7...the internet was not around in the 80's, and the internet is a great 'storage' of coins -

GVF (Good Very Fine)...hehe...FVG (Fine Very Good) i suppose that as we sometimes use (example) 'obverse is VF, reverse is NVF' (VF/NVF), the american system would be 'AU58/EF45' as you said -

Vintage Coins
Master Jmd replied to colliewalker1's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Oh i would. In about 5 or 10 years it wouldn't surprise me idf they didn't sell of the circulation coin minting royalties to another private company, either that or they'll shift production to China/India like everyone else seems to have done and make a better profit. Or, knowing our luck, we go to the Euro (€) and our RM will be doing all Euro countries currency...we (us brits) used to make the coins for all of our colonies once didn't we? -
My opinion... History should not be sealed away...a historical object is supposed to be historically preserved in its own way. A building can be hundreds of years old, people put supports into them to stop them from falling down or braking (which is okay as it helps to keep the history standing). To me, putting a coin into a capsual is like braking a coin, it stops the coin from being touched, used, damaged. History is not supposed to be protected from every little calamity in life.

(Comparing to my own farthings) You should find that the early Victorian Bronze (1860-1880), and the 'non-darkened' George V (1918-1936) Farthings are gold in colour with a brilliant shine to them. The latter Victorian (1881-1895), and the Wren design (1937-1956) Farthings have a bright copper colour with a sharper strike. I am not sure what you mean by greenish though? -
Just wondering what online games people play. I play Ferion sometimes, as Combustion_Reloaded

Ooh, a tough one there... I actually agree with Mr.Blair about the fact that a war on Iraq was nessesary. If war was not decided then Sadam Hussain would still be in power. When Sadam was in power, the Iraqi public had no choice but Iraq victory, e.g. Iraqi sportsmen/women were killed if they did not win gold in the olympics! The situation after the war has been horrendus though, suicide bombs, car bombs, threats on the general Iraqi public, the horrific slaughter of innocent foreign people. But then again, what is it that these terrorists want, Sadam or their own power over Iraq? I still agree with Mr. Blair on certain aspects of the war effort. -

Londoners are the worst in my opinion, they sound very thick...and if you think of all the intelegent people of london, they sound all upper class and posh -
I did a little test you see on a Fine, or Almost VF at best, 1965 penny...i used some bronze cleaner used for antiques and left it in a capsual...now the coin looks as good as new with the same amount of same coloured luster as my other BU pennies... It probably depends on the cleaning method

Here 1672 Farthing - It looks brilliant, but the reverse looks somewhat cleaned, what do you think?
