SEPTIMU SEVERUS SILVER DENARIUS AD 194

You obviously mean cleaned hammered coins, or coins that have had their dirt removed...you would not like a coin that has been highly cleaned from Fine to BU!

    School subjects

History, Physics and Chemistry... It used to be just Physics and Chemistry, but when i started to collect coins i seemed to like history far more

    What coin is this?

I have a few coins like that, and i have always thought them to be Israilian (even though i doubt it) or (as chris said) Burmese...My coins that are like that are like British 20p's and 50p's, they all have that man in glasses on the obverse no matter what the date is... i can not say what it definately is though...Kulhi will probably know...
  6. any time between now and january really...mostly will be out by between end of November and end of December i think
  7. its now on £5.50, what do you recon i should put in for it when it gets to the final few minutes?
  8. I'd wait though, the new additions of most of the annual coin books will be comming out soon
  9. Not an expert, but...i think that alot of German tokens like this got around in 1914, 'Souvenir de' is French... Wepkin...hmm...not a French or a German word, might be a region somewhere(?) (1300th post...wow i'm getting old )

    THAT penny

Well they always said i was old fashioned so in 60 years when i'm a decrepid old man, the coins will still be in the cabinet! Maybe different coins and a different cabinet, but it'll still be the same old story. Agreed...a cabinet is one's esential accessory for a coin collector...
  11. The obverse looks more like Fine if you ask me...too worn to be in a collection in my opinion...

    The Cover is done

Very nice...it shall be very atractive when in the flesh

    THAT penny

I take it that your coins are not slabbed then Coppers? Edit: Well done on your 1300th post HPJ...i'm nearly there
  14. Master Jmd

    THAT penny

Slabing ruins the coin(s), i hope that this penny stays unslabbed for a while...

    THAT penny

AE DEVIL O LVNDON Bloody lovely!
  16. I dont remember the name, but the email seems to ring a bell...all of my eBay transactions have gone well

    Coin Storage

I do believe that these rolls have acid on them (not 100% sure), so it would be best to put them into an acid-free storage system.
  18. I have just recieved my pocket money, and i noticed that one of the £1 coins stood out from the others...firstly, it has the welsh dragon on it (which is wrong for its year), secondly, if i look at it closely i can see an incuse outline of the queens head on the reverse and an incuse outline of the dragon on the obverse...the DECUS ET TUTAMEN is correct exept that the top of the letters are towards the obverse not the reverse as are other 1991 £ coins...the ONE POUND below the dragon is somewhat double-struck (appears bolder than usual)... Is this confirmed as a fake, or is it just the mints mistake (very unlikely)?

    Predecimal.com and Onlinecoins join forces!

Well done chris...you have advanced well as a coin dealer these last few months...congrats
  20. Master Jmd

    Hmm...is it fake?

Firstly: all 1991 £ coins have Decus Et Tutamen...it is the dragon that is wrong with this coin, it shouldn't be there, it should be the scotish thistle... No, it feels just like a normal £ coin. and looks exactly like a normal £ coin! Exactly the same colour, and i have tried scratching it and it doesn't! I dont get it...it is exactly like a real £ coin but with the wrong reverse!

I got caught on a speed camera!

They are 'imation CD-R' and i have tried to save data onto one of them before but my pc just said something along the lines of 'this type of document/file is not compatible with windows medie player 5.0 or higher'
  22. Master Jmd

I got caught on a speed camera!

Wrong...i have a few blank cd's which only music can be stored on them, it says that specificly on the back of the case!
  23. it would be a waste of money if you ask me...if the beginer was to put his/her 10 coins into different sized capsuals then he/she would have to buy a capsual for each coin he/she buys...albums, on the other hand, are easily compatable with a wide range of coins. All one needs for an album is a folder with small, medium, and large album insert thingys
  24. Master Jmd

Is this too harsh, will I get sued?

Out of all the collectors of British coinage i am sure only a few would disagree with you...i agree, and i doubt that you could get sued from it
  25. A beginer would not nessessarily use capsuals because he/she would not nessessarily know what he/she wants to collect...
