  2. Lets face it, he is just being an awkward twit to get himself in the news.

I have searched for the July 2009 SNC too, without success. I would like to see that article, if possible.

    Unrecorded 1806 proof penny ?

I would agree with Peck, they do all seem to have the incuse curl. Well it looks like it on your English Pennies and Penny Variety sites Richard. Or am i missing something? Many thanks, Ian

    Unrecorded 1806 proof penny ?

Taylor restrikes are listed on page 366 that you mentioned, but none for the die pairing kp31 with the imperfect figures. Interesting.

    More Pennies

I guess that lots of us have all bought coins on ebay that look like rarities, but when we get then in hand, they are not. My closest to a complete steal was an 1862 1/2 pence for £2. There is a mark to the left of the lighthouse that could be a letter A if you look at a certain angle, but i don't think that it is. The coin is in vg condition. Still, i like the coin because it is an interesting one.

  16. Indeed not Jon, but Dr Basil Nicholson certainly had a great collection😀
  17. Hi Jon, You need to look at the "Newly identified Pattern and Proof variants" page 217. Cheers, Ian
  18. Funnily enough, i just counted the denticles on the London Coins site, Auction 157, lot 2670. I counted 189 on the 3B coin, so no difference. I hope that this helps.

Law of contract - offer for sale

This is very interesting. Just a few weeks ago, i saw a coin advertised at £425 at an online coin dealer's website.. The coin for sale obviously should have listed at £4250. I thought should i buy it, or not? I did not buy it, thinking that it could cause complications at some point. Anyway, the next time i looked on that site, maybe a week later, the coin was not for sale at all. I still wonder if somebody did get a bargain?

    Waterbird Collection

Indeed, the 1854 florin looked maybe aef, so that was a decent price. I did bid on the 1922 penny at £950, but it was not my first choice, so only a half serious bid.

    Waterbird Collection

Now that is a great win. Extremely nice and very rare. Congrats.
