1849 penny, it was war! Lovely coin that.

So the live auction starts at 3pm, if i am not mistaken. And the bids already listed are just showing what people have bid already. An interesting auction to be sure. Looking at trying to get one coin in particular. Good luck everybody.
  3. Edit, 1970 double reverse penny.
  4. I liked that 1970 double obverse penny too. An interesting coin i thought.
  5. That is a super example though. When was the last time a better F112 has been sold, i wonder.
  6. Not an open 3, i don't think. But i guess that is what they are pitching it as, pricewise.

Oh, my apologies oldcopper, getting both of them at once would be greedy. 😁I forgot to say copper pennies, so 1843, 1849 and 1860/59.

Wow, there are some nice coins that i would like in that auction. 1863 florin and the three rarest pennies. I would be happy to get any of those.
  9. My email bid for the 1843 penny was not quite enough. DNW have one in their next auction, so fingers crossed for that one.
  10. A bit of a low estimate i thought. It says £2000-£4000. I was thinking that it would get at least £7000. We will soon find out VickySilver.

Three beauties there Pete, especially that ME.
  12. Yes oldcopper, myself and vickysilver both loved that coin.
  13. Yes indeed. Poor/vg is nearer to the mark.
  14. The 1863 florin seems like an optimistic estimate. Vg/Nf £1250-£1500. I need one of these, bit i will not bid for this one.

An interesting coin. Here is a slender 3 for comparisson.
  16. The Roland Harris collection was amazing to see. So many top notch rare pennies and lots more.

I won nothing, but none of my bids were top end of the estimates. My biggest bid was for the F7, which was a nice coin.
  19. I must have seen it on their website too, but like you said, not good pictures. Nice find.
  20. That is a decent coin. I wish that i had found it first though.
  21. Looks very nice to me. Much better than my ef for that year.

    Pennies High grade.

I mean on finding a nice one.

I won't be bidding on that 1919KN either. It is not quite nice enough on the reverse, like has been said. But i do have a list of four Vicky pennies and a shilling that i will bid on.

Mine is not well struck, probably below average tbh.
