    LCA June

Mine is not well struck, probably below average tbh.

    LCA June

I got a very nice 1918 KN last year a 1919H before that, but not as nice. So still gaps to fill with 1918H and 1919KN. If only i could fill them with coins this nice.
  3. Thank you for that indicator PWA, i will make a note of that and try not to make that mistake again.
  4. Ok cheers, i could see that the colons after IMP did not line up quite right, but the colon after BRITT seemed like obverse A. Oh well, i will keep looking. The reverse is B, i have no doubt.
  5. Hi guys, i think that i have just purchased an f175. The reverse is definitely B, but i cannot upload the picture. So hopefully, this is an obverse A. It was cheap anyway. And it is 1913. Probably an f176. Regards, Ian
  6. Hi guys, i do buy coins from R Ingram occasionally, and have never had a problem. If the photo is not clear, then i just do not buy the item. Perhaps i have just been lucky. As for overgrading, well i just make my mind up with the picture.
  7. Unfortunately, my pictures are taking up too much storage to show you on here. Anyway, the 1854 and 1863 florins are both shown in Colin Cookes March catalogue. (Thank you Lee)
  8. I will try and get some decent pictures on here Vicky. The 1863 was almost very fine.
  9. Well, i just had a bit of a result. I just received a March catalogue from a very good coin shop. It showed very decent examples of 1863 and 1854 florins. Unfortunately, the 1863 is already sold, but i managed to order the 1854. It is better than the LCA one that i was outbid on, but hardly any more money, so every cloud has a silver lining.
  10. Thanks Vicky, i would not buy one that is any worse than near fine. As for the 1863 florin, i could have bought a near fine last year for £1450, but i thought about it for too long. So when i decided to buy it, it had just been sold.
  11. I left a £1000 bid on the book for it, but you never know how much higher the winner might have gone.
  12. I won two of my four bids. Underbidder on the 1854 florin. Note to myself, should have gone higher.
  13. I hope that nobody minds if i mention that the 1845 half crown looks like an overdate. Any thoughts please? Thanks, Ian
  14. Oh yes, i have two bids in at DNW too.
  15. Yes Vicky, i got outbid on a vf one last year, not by much, and that sold at £3000.
  16. A few nice bronze pennies and halfpennies are in the catalogue. I have put in four bids this time. Fingers crossed, i need that nice rare florin.

    My collection

What a great collection you have there Gary. Looking at the 1933 penny, very nice too.
  18. Well here is my 1919 h penny. Not the greatest strike, i know.
  19. That is amazing. I am not a collector of notes, but i did not realise that they could be worth so much.
  20. Just a quick update. It is a nice coin. Probably GEF, maybe cleaned, but i am happy with it.
  21. I have just won this on the bay, not bad for just over £15. Well i hope that it looks this nice when i get it.
  22. Thanks Jerry, i am impressed with your info about this coin. You guys on here really know your coins. Yes i checked LCA and there it was, thank you. So a nice coin, but not a bargain. Ian.
  23. Thanks Peckris, i was thinking better than vf too. I guess the condition would half it's value maybe. It is for sale at £499 from a shop.
  24. Here is the reverse of my coin from earlier. The date and condition of this coin must be quite scarce.
