  1. I'd LOVE one in that condition! If you ever upgrade I'll happily buy that off you.
  2. Ok, here's a question that seems obvious (to me!) - why didn't you decide to sell most of the collection apart from one choice example of each type?
  3. Thanks Mike. It's hard to determine a VIP proof when there were normal proofs in that year. Why wouldn't they issue VIPs with early strikes of an 'ordinary' proof set? In any case, the real determiner - the penny - is the normal proof issue, as has been pointed out.
  4. Yes, each year had 'recut waves' apparently
  5. Oh god, I hope not! It's bad enough we have to put up with the appalling abortion of a word "attendee".
  6. Well, yeah, but the non-existant word 'inheritee' had been used so many times above! I just couldn't let it rest...
  7. No, I meant the one that advertises a tiny gold coin designed by 'a descendant of Pistrucci'.
  8. That one wasn't even the RM - the London Mint Office or something fatuous like that.
  9. I saw them 7 times in all, but only one of those was in the post-Moon era.
  10. InheritORS !!!
  11. Why is Tony Robinson coming to mind? Mind you, that other advert for a grossly overpriced gold coin does quote the name Pistrucci .. wonder who that's aimed at?
  12. I don't have my Obverse 5 to hand but from memory it looks right.
  13. "The coin is slightly worn"
  14. Estimates are simply the auction house's "finger in the air" which may or may not be based on past experience. Also bear in mind that some are "come and get me" estimates, set artificially low to encourage a bidding war.
  15. Yes, I've been looking for an affordable EF example forever. Silly question! I'd say the top grade for both is VERY RARE but give me the 1926...
  16. Not for me - it's a very nice example.
  17. Good luck. Do be aware that you can get adverse effects from the Oxford vaccine but they wear off in about 24 hours. You do get what you pay for - free care is not very good.
  18. I have this one, and can recommend it to anyone still havering as to whether to get it or not!
  19. Weirdly, the obverse of the cartwheel almost looks convincing, unlike the reverse.
  20. I wonder if that's a weak strike rather than wear as such? The flat areas are all in a line from Britannia's helmet to her lap, with only the merest hint of rubbing elsewhere.
